Stuck on the Bloodskal Blade puzzle
No matter how I swing, I can't seem to get that magic "ribbon" to shoot out of the blade. I belive that is a bug or something. If its not a bug, what am I doing wrong? Please help, I don't want to end up like Gratian!

'Power' swing it. Use wasd at the same time as you swing.

While power swinging, use a direction key to move in the direction of the crack. Example, to sideswipe, power hit and "a" or "d" key at same time.

Are you using the Unofficial patch?

Legendary edition, yes. Is that why it wont do the thing?

No, something else must be wrong. Ive never had the problem, so I dont know.
I've had this bug time to time while using the blade but not as you describe.
After being in vampire lord mode - Quickloading or waiting, the ''magic'' aftermath won't happen. Try equipping the weapon, save, load back and use it again.
Good luck! o/

Just my luck, it didn't work! Now I'll never see my "wife" again!

Maybe I'm pointing out the obvious, but I wonder if you are actually making power swings. You have to keep the attack button pressed down (left mouse by default). This will trigger a power swing. You can check whether you correctly made a power swing by looking at your stamina bar: a power swing takes a good chunk of stamina.

With the Bloodskal Blade you first have to make horizontal swings by swinging while you move backwards. After that, you have to make vertical swings by doing a power swing from standing position.

Time to address the white elephant in the room, are you using mods?

Yea, why?
Ok it might be an issue with one of them.
First, have you tried running LOOT (Load Order Optimisation Tool), it should tell you if you need to change your load order, or if you are having a conflict, of if a mod requires another mod to function.
If it isn't something that simple, then you might have to post your load order for people to see if they can spot anything that could be causing the problem.

I don't even know what that is! Sorry if I sound like an idiot :P
So loot is an addon like Mod organizer or Nexus Mod Manager. All you really need to know is that it sorts mods putting them in the order they should be in (this has been tested for over 2 years and its just about perfect) Download it and reading the tutorial should give you all you need to use it.
