To transmute silver, do I have to drop it?
Tranmute spell from the Halted Stream mine is great, you can make iron into silver then silver into gold. But is there any way to stop at silver? The spell always takes silver and makes it into gold, so no way to accumulate silver.

Right now I make silver ore, drop it, make another etc. Is that the only way?

No, the spell prioritises silver before iron, so if you want silver ingots you need to drop the silver nuggets first, otherwise you end up with gold.

That said, unless you are wanting silver for some specific reason, it's not much of an issue. Unmodded silver weapons can't be enhanced, and gold jewellery makes more money than Silver.

Thankfully most of the transmute mids fixes this oversight that has always bugged me too.

Just to clarify: Enhanced or enchanted? So we cant enchant silver jewelry, only gold? Or do you mean silver weapons cant be sharpened to fine etc?

The second one, unless you use a mod, you can't sharpen them on the grindstone, which I have to admit annoys me.

You can still enchant them.

I store every silver ore after the spell. It could be a lot of work if you need much but it works.

you are trasmuting iron into gold, who would want to transmute iron into silver.

Not sure why you want silver.

Silver is needed to upgrade Bloodskall Blade.

There are also a number of modded armors and weapons that require silver ingots in their forging and some need it for tempering too, so having the silver indots on hand already helps a lot if you want to use that stuff..

A bit old thread but main reason you would want silver is that some gems, like amethysts and garnets, can only be crafted into neckaces or rings with silver. Outcomes of those are worth more than two gold rings as is and can be enchanted to add even more value and xp in the process.
