Frostfall, Walking Stick, Blocking, more?

After a long time I come back to Skyrim and I am using Frostfall (+iNeed etc...) and SPERK.

I want to be a pickpocket, I chose a Khajit because they are/look cool and have the right skillset.

Now I found out that Pickpocket helps with unarmed and that Khajit can do totally overpowered unarmed damage. That was a surprise when I put my dagger away and did a LOT more damage unarmed :-)

1. Am I right that "unarmed" can not block?
2. The Walking Stick from Frostfall can block, but only sometimes. Is that me or is that the low block skill or is the stick bad for blocking?
3. Do you have any non spoiler suggestions? (Pickpocket, Unarmed combat, Blocking)
