If you want to learn about modding, check out the pinned thread 'Player Spreadsheet'. It touches on the most basic info for most modding-elated topics and has links to more in depth info on each topic, how to guides and so on. I highly suggest reading it and following the links as you begin your modded Skyrim journey. ^_~
Enderal came out before they did and is a total conversion mod and they didn't put the hype into until it was finished. I played it through and I loved it... No talk, no hype, just released the finished product to the public. An awesome product to boot.
We'd have a alpha/beta version but there was some drama about content creators being concerned about asset theft, so they took down the old alpha and never hosted a new alpha once they had enough content, which they certainly do at this point.
They had to cater to these people because good content creators are hard to find and it was a relatively small concession to make in order to keep them happy.
That being said...it's been a looooooong time since then and there's still no alpha/beta for Skywind which leads me to think that they can't get enough volunteers to help out. I sincerely doubt Skywind will see the light of day. Maybe sometime after the next TES game.
Skyblivion is a straight up port job which makes it easier to do but it's also completely understaffed, most of the talent they have is working on Skywind 1st. If Skywind release is questionable, Skyblivion might as well be abandonware.
I followed both projects and kept in regular contact with several of the important people for Skywind and by extension: Skyblivion which is why I know a bit of the history...but that was YEARS ago so who knows, maybe they've made considerable progress since then?
You got me curious. Any chance you can get a current update from them?
