balimund wont stop following me

Balimund wont stop following me. i dint marry him i have never even had dialouge with him. he just randomly showed up during the first companions quest and i cant get him to leave. he cant die and there is no option to tell him to stop. I've tried loading earlier saves where he wasn't and he somehow ends up there too. he is making everything much harder for me to do in the game as I am a stealth player and he sucks. any advice on how to get rid of him or maybe a steam mod hat will let me kill him?

What mods are you already using, because Balimund shouldn't be essential or a follower.

Open the console, click on him, and type "resetai" without the quotation marks.
