How do I make NPCs stop looking at me all the time?
This is driving me crazy, no matter where I go, every follower and NPC in the world has their stares fixed right on me if I'm within 50 feet of them. I already have the Reduced Distance NPC mod, but that doesn't stop them from always looking at the player, even when they are talking to each other. Has anyone made a mod that actually makes this gawking stop? Or can I do this myself?

Illusion can fix that.
They can't stare at something they don't see :)

Making posts like that just adds more clutter until we get to the real answer.

This is a real answer.
Npcs don't stare at you if you are undetected.

Just walk with Invisibility on constantly with maxed sneak in addition and your silly problem will be solved.

Also google doesn't hurt , found not 1 but 2 solutions in like few seconds:

Congratulations, you found both results that I've already seen and didn't address the real issue. Maybe try actually reading what you google before being smug about finding a pair of search results.

Solutions for your "problem" are right there in comments in both of these threads.

So maybe read the contents of these threads carefuly next time before you start acting like a ass towards someone who just gave you answer to your issue. :awkward:

No, OP's talking about something that I've noticed, too. Even during conversations where two NPC's are talking to each other, one will finish whatever they're saying, and then stare at you with this glass-eyed look on their face. It's most apparent during the conversation that begins the "Dragon Rising" quest, along with conversations during a few other quests. The problem is that a lof of these conversations serve to move quests along, but they don't trigger unless the NPC's know you're there. So stealth won't help at all.

Relationship Dialogue Overhaul ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74568/ ) has a setting for "NPC headtracking distance" (what's causing them to stare at you) as well as one for "greeting distance" (what makes them talk to you). 2 birds with one stone as they say.

Oh boy! I will download it right now.

It works! I can play again without feeling like I have a ♥♥♥♥ hanging from my forehead. Thanks for the help.

Reading is hard right?

Kind of weird how there's been so many requests for this mod yet it still doesn't exist. They have a player headtracking mod, why not have one for NPCs?

That's just because you got beautiful eyes :B1:

Dude, the mod described in the post you linked doesn't do what the OP wants. The way I interpret it, what the NPC wants is a mod that changes things so that the NPCs in a converasation will look AT EACH OTHER when they're conversing, and only look at us when we need to say something to further the quest, instead of looking at us ALL THE TIME.

That's correct. I thought the Reduced Distance mod would fix this but it only stops the greetings, which is fine on its own I guess but didn't really help otherwise. As far as I know, the only other mod that might do this is the Relationship Overhaul mod or something like that. The problem is that you have to install the whole thing. It does a whole lot of extra stuff like changing NPC dialogue and adding weird sentence mixing in order to form vaguely coherent conversations that sort of make sense. Not really worth it for me. Anyway, no need to address this troll any further, he's done nothing but antagonize in every post. He'll go away on his own eventually.

This is why I don't help people, it's best just to point out how much of a tool they are and move on.
