How can I get rid of the kill Paarthurnax quest after completing Sovngarde?
The UESP says:

"If you trigger the quest to kill Paarthurnax after completing Sovngarde, the quest will be permanently stuck in your journal unless you kill Paarthurnax."

I'm thinking of console commands.

I found this on Wiki:

"It is possible to complete this quest without needing to slay Paarthurnax by typing this command into the console:

setstage MQPaarthurnax 100

This way, Paarthurnax will remain alive, the Greybeards will still be hospitable, and the Blades will talk once more. The speech options regarding Paarthurnax's termination are still available when speaking with Arngeir, however."

But I seems a bit like faking it, the game falsely recognises that Paarthurnax dead, it's just that his texture will remain there. And worst of all, the Blades will probably congratulate me for killing Paarthurnax, like 99.9% of the players, I wish I could kill the Blades instead, like Arngeir said: savage barbarians.

Anyway, is there a way to make this quest go away after I already completed Sovngarde and defeated Alduin?

Or am I stuck with this quest forever? if it's the latter, the best I can do is probably not follow it and just play like that as I normally would.

Console commands have the potential to break your game, if you tell the game you've killed Paarthurnax, and you haven't, then it will probably cause a crash (maybe not immediately).

Also it may actually cause Paarthurnax to be dead, maybe it will, maybe it won't, console commands are pretty unpredictable in this respect.

Either install a mod like the Paarthurnax Dilemna, or leave it unfinished.

Found the mod, turns out it's pretty awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQEEErr_ybA&t=7m20s

The dialogue with Delphine simply nails it, basically telling the Blades everything I wanted to tell them but couldn't.
"We wouldn't even be here to discuss if it weren't for Paarthurnax"
"So did you question the authority of Reman Cyrodiil or Tiber Septim this way?"
"You realise that without Paarthurnax, Tiber Septim could not be who he was, right?"
"Savages. This is what you have become. As bad as the Thalmor".
"I see the Graybeards were right about you as well. Bloodthirsty Barbarians".

and seeing that Delphine is too narrow-minded to listen to reason:

"Do not force my wrath if you know what's good for you."
"Paarthurnax will be spared. Honor my decision. We will not speak of this again".

The thing is, I don't like mod, I only enjoy playing Vanilla (maybe I will pick up mods after I finish the game but first I want to end it on vanilla).

If I add this mod, do that dialogue to complete the quest, and then remove the mod, will there be problems? will the game crash or become inconsistent?

The Paarthanax Dilemma mod should have be included into the unofficial Patch as it gives you the choice of clearing the quest and keeping Paarthy alive.

The mod does a good job and is way better than anyone tinkering with console commands to blow their game stability.

You can't remove mods mid-playthrough, data from mods is baked into saves, so removing mods causes crashes, they might not be immediate but they will happen.

Basically if you install the mod, it has to remain installed.
