banning, the guy who sells the war dogs in markarth, just died. (because he was a cannibal and i slaughtered them all) but id still like to get the dog, any way to do it?

Or reload an earlier save before you started that quest ... go and buy the dog then redo the quest ... if you want to!

I mean what harm could it do ... chances are that One bullet isn't going to be loaded into the barrel ... right. Every time you use the console in a way that was NOT intended you take a risk ... but hey it's your game, your choice right ... Click

Best way to avoid issues is load a previous save. Which is why most recommend making lots of saves so that you can go back and play as well as is possible.

I don't make console command recommendations for two reasons. First, I am not an expert with the console. Second, console recommendations cannot be considered a best-practice (for reasons discussed many times in many threads), and I prefer to make recommendations that are backed with hard information or are in line with what seem to be this forum's best practices.

well instead of those suicide methods like resurrecting the corpse or spawning another instance of that guy, you can waste ur time and hope a stray dog will be ur dog or you can buy a husky from dawnguard

There are a variety of dogs in Skyrim, there's the stray ones ... I thought one was in the hills SE of Helgen. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dog

Or better yet do the quest "A Daedra's best Friend" To get Barbas as a immortal follower who cannot be killed except by the Rueful Axe you have to be at least L10 to be able to start it though.
