Maybe in your opinion, not in mine. I don't see a reason why he should be left alone, the Blades need to be reformed it's a legendary thing and I get to choose who's in.
Considering the blades are essentially a defunct organization without a Dragonborn, I don't see why the Dragonborn needs to listen to someone with a bad case of tunnel vision.
They failed their original purpose, picked fights that they were only capable of losing and then act like they are somehow capable of protecting/guiding the Dragonborn. Rofl. GTFO.
Greybeards have it right. They understand their purpose. They guide the Dragonborn. Whether that turns out to be for good or ill - that's the Dragonborn's choice. However, the Greybeards state that they hope the Dragonborn will not misuse the power of the Voice.
Enter the Blades: We are here to guide/protect the Dragonborn (while hiding from the Thalmor). All dragons are bad. Kill them all. We are right and you are wrong. Do it or we'll remove your Chuck E. Cheese membership card.
Guess I'll be going to Dave and Buster's from now on.
Everyone failed their purpose before the Dragonborn fixed it all for everyone, that's no argument.
Delphine is totally correct in what she says while the Greybeards and their little cult are wrong in their efforts to stop Dragonborn doing what he was meant to do, they only care for their poor little dragon and nothing else, useless in the world. Dragonborn leads the blades, even chooses them, the only organisation he can actually do that.
Sounds like the blades are already extinct then. With their attitude, they'll have to hope one of those alternate universes has a Dragonborn that will listen to them.
Pretty sure anyone who gets assigned a destiny like Dragonborn isn't going to roll over for some random dip$hit that tells them to obey or you can't be part of our club anymore.
As for Greybeards: they've already served their purpose. Whether the Dragonborn is welcome among them or not is a moot point.
Those cultist monks Greybeards treat the Dragonborn far worse than any other ally, they would never allow Dragonborn to see thier silly dragon, only after the dragon himself tells them there is no choice but to meet they allow Dragonborn to continue. The Blades were always there and actually a step ahead of the silly monks.
That's just it. Greybeards were never allies. They were there to guide the Dragonborn in the way of the Voice. Later, they served as mediators but nothing else.
I'd trust the Greybeards over the Blades any day. I at least know what the Greybeards want. The Blades? Who knows. An organization like the Blades is easily corrupted.
Dragonborn is the head of the Blades. Greybeards do nothing, what is there to trust they prefer to see the world ending...
In world war 2 most germans soldiers just followed orders... should literally the entire country have been nuked into oblivion after the war?, or should it have been put into the light what atrocious actions the nazi's had done so they realise what happened.
This is Paarthurnax, the exact same deal, if you can't deduct something this simple you're nothing but some racist maniac who, after you've killed him, should just jump off a cliff as you are the humanoid embodiment of a dragon yourself and then quit the game. Because, if you hate all dragons, you hate your own character.
That's part of the reason many people don't want to kill Paarthurnax. Like you just said, the Dragonborn is the head of the Blades, their LEADER. Yet Delphine's ordering you around like your positions are reversed. Given that she's doing that, are you REALLY all that sure that Paarthurnax will go back to his old ways when even Esbern's best guess is that it MIGHT happen? At least the Greybeards are willing to help you become the Dovahkiin, while the Blades are driven by sheer hatred.
They can be trusted because they have no ulterior motives. They exist to study the way of the Voice so they can guide/teach the Dragonborn. They use Paarthurnax to further that goal.
The Blades? We're right and you're wrong. Dragonborn? Shut up and do what we say or you're out of our club. Accepting the Dragonborn as leader is predicated upon being able to use him as a convenient (and immensely powerful) tool.
They say their purpose is to protect and follow the Dragonborn. They can do just that. They can also advise; however, if they think they can just order the Dragonborn around like he's their possession...I'll just Fus Rah Doh them off a cliff and find other "allies".
During the whole game people order you around, YOU do everything that's the design of the game. Your argument is not really working there, Dragonborn is the head of the blades, and he picks who is joining, no other organisation does that for the Dragonborn. The Blades are legendary, the Greybeards themselves wouldn't want you to come near the dragon they adore and worship, their view on what Dragonborn should do is not really helping anyone.
So wait...Most soldiers followed orders ok what was Paarthurnax according to you just a soldier that should never pay for his crimes then? He is second in line behind Alduin, not just a soldier and your argument doesn't really work you know, the US did nuke Japanese civilians in order to end the war, that's the only time that weapon has been used, the US used depleted Uranium in their rockets after that, you think the Germans wouldn't have used nukes if they had them? They were leading in research before they started losing the war.
Dragons are nukes and Dragonborn gets rid of them and makes the world a safer place.
The Dragonborn kills dragons, that's not being a maniac or a racist just because he kills this particular one, it makes no sense. He makes the world safe, I don't know how killing a dragon would make Dragonborn hate himself, Alduin saved his life when he came to Skyrim, but the Dragonborn didn't think a single second about it when he learned who he is and what he is supposed to do!
The same Blades who are GIVING you orders?
Blades do not serve the Dragonborn, they don't even treat him like an ally, they are trying to make the Dragonborn their servant, which is why I move on and let them die out.
Right hand, left hand, the one holding up his balls, doesn't matter, all dragons were below him, he spoke, they acted. And for your second little rant of insanity, someone killing because... well why not, no that is not a maniac, that is a psychopath you ♥♥♥♥.
