Just got the obgective "Gain access to the Sky Temple" and Delphine is asking about wether we'll travel seperatly or tgeather and it got me wondering, so I felt I should ask.
is it worth it to travel with the people for the quests? or is it better to go it alone? I've only had a couple quests where I have to follow someone/can follow someone and it..varies? for me at least. and so I just wanted to get a greater opinion on weather it's worth it or not.
Thank you to those who take the time to read this!

Actually, it's a quest to whether or not you want to have her hinder you in reacging then Sky Temple. Because you'll have to work together to clear Karpath together or alone, depends on whether your in God mode or not, then you have to kill all the enemies either by yourself, or with the help of Delphine. Once that's finished, then you have to cross the walkway, but your going to have to figure out first how to get aacross by opening the crosswalk to cross it. Then Delphine and the old man will be there, plus anyone you recruit will stay there with Dephine.

There's a god mode??

Mainly it's just for getting to these place's that i'm asking. I don't believe I've discovered any of the places on the way there and was just wondering if it's worth it to travel the pathes with the followers or if it's better to go it alone?

If you meet them there it is way easier!

As having Delphine and Esbern following you gets glitched. The further you get, the more Delphine will stop ... turn around to check if Esbern is following her ... while he gets to her stops waits for her to start conversation that doesn't happen. This can happen every 20 meters until finally on the road they eventually just stop as in a meeting spot set up by the Usleep patch.

Edit ... often it is a fun thing to do to accompany npcs .. and to defend them! As enemies level to your level whereas the NPC stays at their level and sometimes are not armed at all!

OOf thank you for saving me from that because it sounds like a disaster. Dose that happen often with the quests where you have multiple NPC's following?

Personally that is the worst one.

I use to love escorting missions especially the optional ones like accompanying the participants to High hrothgar for the peace conference; in Season Unending quest.

Where, which ever side you invited last they would head out and walk the whole distance. So you were able to accompany either Ulfric and Galmar from Windhelm through riverwood around the mountains to Ivarstead. Or folllow Elisif, Elewen, Tullius and Rikke from Solitude, Dragon bridge through the bandit camp and all the way to high Hrothgar. That also was fixed by the Usleep patch such that they have gathering spots, where they stay until you leave.

For me these quests made for very entertaining fun as I could follow either as their saviour and fight any enemies .. or as an invisible spectator watching Elisif atempt to fight a giant barehanded. Or watch as Rikke takes on the whole bandit camp.

Like anything in skyrim it's your game whatever you wish to do to make it more fun

That's awesome, I can't wait to get further into the story line.

Skyrim is a journey that can be whatever you wish it to be ... depending on the mods you use.
That also depends on learning to mod properly and checking load orders, mod requirements and using all the tools to do it proper. Loot, Wyre bash, Tes5Edit, FNIS, Bodyslide and USLEEP.

Avoiding the workshop mods especailly if you can get the same and more reliable version at nexus.

My advice is slow it down and enjoy the journey, don't rush it to get to particular quests. Whenever possible avoid fast travel and explore the countryside.

Early game, when you may not fare well alone, or when you haven't yet been along the route, it's always good to travel together. Later game, when you can fend for yourself and/or easily fast travel, you have more options. Do you feel like exploring along the way, or just get there and get it done?

If you do it right, you can have your follower, your conjure, your follower's (staff) conjure, Delphine, Esbern, his conjure, and animal pet, in tow on your way to clear Karthspire. I haven't tested to see if we can squeeze Serana into the party yet, and of course there are multiple follower mods.

For me, the biggest issue is that I can't go anywhere without looting every single plant, enemy, etc., to not fast traveling usually results in me never actually reaching where I wanted to go.

I've only just recently started looking into the mods and some of them look really cool. Nexus is something I have yet to look into.

I mostly only fast travel when I want to get something over with quick or don't feel like fighting a dragon
Also I have that same looting problem, one of the quirks I decided to have for my character Brayden is that he complusivly collects ingredients yet never cooks needless to say. I have a few overflowing chests.

I prefer to go there alone, always.
I just went to kill the dragon to prove to Delphin that I was dragonborn and got lost in the snow and dark so I jumped back to Whiterun and used the wagon to get there. having her follow me would just of been annoying.

My eyes have trouble with a dark screen or a too bright one so I struggle a bit, that's why I got lost, plus it was a snowstorm :steamfacepalm:

I think most players when we start playing Skyrim see the workshop from the launcher ... Browse a bit see lots of cool mods and keep adding mods till we get crashes. When we get sick of crashes we start looking for a way to be more stable .. that's when Nexus becomes a lot more appealing.

Where you can download a mod, and only use that particular version for as long as you want. Any updates the mod author makes ... you can use if you wish and download that. Or ignore if you prefer the old version. No automatic updates!

Nexus is Free as long as you read and scroll to bottom of first page click next, then register so that Nexus has an address where downloaded mods go.

For too dark or too bright a screen use the brightness slider in main menu settings. That also is very handy if you want better screenshots to minimise the washed out effect that the brightness slider causes.

Thank you Eternie, it's better but it's a balencing act, any brighter and snow is unbarable :)
Eternie Jan 21, 2019 @ 1:30am
@Fabea I use to struggle with it being too bright especially in snowy areas ... in the middle of the day. How ever there are a lot of things you can do.

1 As discussed turning down the brightness slider to reduce the brightness.
2 You can use the wait command to wait until it is late afternoon or early evening.
3 Using an ENB or a better ENB may change your graphic settings or allow you to tweak ENB game settings.

4 if nothing else works you can search through UESP skyrim Force weather (fw) commands to set a more foggy or cloudy sky. Like opening console with ~ and typing
fw 10a231 1

then close console. That will set a overcast sky with rain ( for a short while )
... which should be a lot less intense.
Of course as always use console commands sparingly and carefully
