Square Boxes instead of Text

Not really sure what is happening, but if anyone can offer any advice on what I can do to fix it I would appreciate it.

Generally, that would be due to a mod changing that area to a different language, and your system doesn't support characters (letters/numbers/symbols) from that language. Posting your load order can get you more help pinpointing which mod it is.

try out new save without mods , if it worked then try fixing your load order or mods, maybe something is causing it.

You're probably using a mod that changes the look of the text.

If that replacement font doesn't support special characters like - [ ] % & £ $ - for example, then it displays them as boxes.

By the look of your mod list - maybe immersive menu background, i don't know. Just look for the mod that you installed which replaced the default font, and there you have the culprit.

yes, but it is happening for the Bee and Barb. I am now encountering a new issue, the game is crashing just after the bethesda logo disappears.

i disabled all my mods and started a new save and it started crashing
