game wont let me add hearthfire items via console command
so i'm trying to add goat horns or other items that would just be a mindless fetch quest if i went out to look for them, like goat horns and so on, but the game won't let me add the item in game.

i've found the object ID for goat horns to be XX00303F, i understand that XX relates to the load order of the DLC, (if hearthfire is 2nd in the load order XX is 02, mine is 03) so i write 0300303F and the quantity that i want, but it won't recognise the object i'm trying to get.

i don't know what i'm doing wrong.

i'm typing the command as follows:
player.additem 0300303F 50

wont work.

A tip for the future, instead of looking up what the item's ID is, use the help console command. For example, to find goat horns it would be

help "goat horn" 4

With the part in quotations what you want to search for. It'll show the ID including what the XX part is supposed to be

found the problem:

Hearthfire is 3rd in my load order when i look at it, but there must be some hidden .esm that i'm not seeing.
so XX is 04 for me.

1: Download LOOT (https://loot.github.io/) and run it so your DLCs & mods are sorted properly. Then copy the load order into a text file or word document so you can try to memorize your order a bit.

2: Be careful with what you add through the console. Base items (alchemy ingredients, smithing materials) should be okay, but adding quest specific items can sometimes mess your game up.

why would i need to download anything when i can just type 04 for XX?
i already posted that i fixed the problem.

His post was pretty irrelevant, but honestly his points are something you should follow. LOOT is incredibly important for anyone who's modding their game, and certain console commands can mess up your game

If you use mods, then LOOT is pretty essential, which is why a lot of people say use it.
However if you are not using mods, it's pretty much irrelevant.

i am using mods, but quality of life and environmental/immersions mods mostly, like SKSE, skyUI and others.

How many, exactly? If it's something like less than 20 then sure it'd be okay to forgo LOOT if you know what you're doing, but anything more is probably when you should really consider it. It's not anything malicious or resource heavy, it's literally just there to sort your mods, as load order can actually cause many problems. It does not hurt at all to have it, and is much needed help.

It's better to have it when you don't need it, than to not have it when you do need it.
