Follower lost all items

So I was wandering on the North, collecting iron, hides and other stuff for house. My follower is Uthgerd. I was swimming from land to land and Uthgerd seemd to be a bit confused about that, so she went "around" in order to be come to me. When I discovered Septimus Signus' Outpost I decided to go to the town and sell items I've got in other places (including helmet of Yngol, all my books, many of alchemy ingrediens, a lot of ores etc). Uthgerd wasn't near me then. And when I arrived she hasn't had any items in her inventory. None, she was just wearing her standard armour. I have seen some posts about problems like this, but nothing helped. I'm not using any follower mods, previous saves seem to have same problem. I have never had a problem like this, so can someone help?

you should punish her, stealing from the player is a intolerable crime. and to make sure that new follower wont do it, too.

Does she still have the equipment you gave her in her inventory? What happens is, is that when followers don't follow you they return to their own equipment. It is the reason i take their personal gear, upgrade it and then give it back. If she doesn't have the stuff you gave her, no idea what happened, never seen that happen to me.

She has nothing in her inventory. It is just empty. She doesn't even have keys to her house. Many times I have done this (going far away from follower), but everytime every follower had their inventory with items I gave them when I used fast travel.

Ok, that is weird, do you not have any mods installed for anything?, cause i have had weird things happen with mods which should not have happened. Like corpses for dead thralls disappearing when they had permanent items on them even though i had no mods installed for corpses whatsoever. Weird things can happen when you add mods during a gameplay instead of starting a fresh game with mods installed beforehand.

Welp, I guess there's no help and I should've just made separate save. I've dismissed Uthgerd, she still has nothing in her inventory. Because I had some unique items (helmet of Yngol) I decided to go to the secret developers room and take every book I've read (I like to gather them so I have something to put on the shelfs in my house) and throw away copies (I had some books stored in my house). Other items were for sale, other were ingrediens, nothing important at all.

Took a look at your mods, doesn't seem those are supposed to change follower inventory behavior.

You can try and give Uthgerd the same kind of equipment she normally wears, a set of steel plate without the helm and see if she keeps that equiped while not following you.

For the helm of Yngol, press the console command button, the ~ button, and type
player.additem 000295f3 1
