Otherwise people have nothing to start with.
It's kind of like someone saying they have writers block on their novel, and asking for idea's without providing any details. People might chip in idea's but they won't write the entire thing for you.
Interested to hear about the mod too.
DM me if you want. Do not DM me if you don't. :golem:
I was talking about Direct Messaging. I am also up down for a nice DeathMatch.
Get a mic and a free audio recorder like Audacity or Reaper, and read the lines aloud, then listen to the playback. You'll know in an instant if you've written the lines properly. Of course that also depends on what delivery style you use, and how well it fits the overall theme. Unless you're doing a scene in Sovngarde, don't talk like the inhabitants of Shor's Hall.
"Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?" doesn't work in the rest of Skyrim. Then again, neither does "yo" and "wassup" and "hail yeah".
I recently got a Blue Yeti mic for this project. I've been working on character development and plots for the last few months and just started writing the dialogue. When I hit the dialogue part, that's when it hit me that it's not a one person job. I'm aware of how difficult it is but I'm willing to learn and do most if not all of the technical stuff myself.
If you're interested in anything, or just want to chat, feel free to private message, I made a discord server but I'm still messing around with the format. :)
Also not sure if you would want my input if you can't handle those comments.
I can be a harsh critic.
Good luck with the mod anyway.
All I can say is the general advice that David Eddings put in his Rivan Codex (a guide of how he writes his books). Start with your map, mark where what happens, then decide roughly what you want to happen, give your characters a personality each, then start writing your dialogue from all that. Finally get someone else to read it, preferably several (both male and female, since men and women notice different things).
