Entered Thalmor Embassy prior to it's supposed quest broke some npc's
hey guys so I did something stupid during my gameplay. So while I was passing by near the Thalmor embassy I got curious on what's inside prior the quest involving it I went in using some modded spells to jump over walls and stuff.

Then suddenly my journal was updated and added the "diplomatic Immunty" Quest. At first I paid it no mind then I noticed that some npcs think that they were at the party inside the embassy, and so much time has already passed since then and I've also cleaned my saves when I did that embassy breaking in thing.

anyone know any remedy for this? aside from reloading a save before doing that? Becasue at this point I can't load a save before that escapade.

Start a new game and keep hard saves of your progress.

♥♥♥♥. I already have so much progress in it. also appearantly it affected the thalmor embassy quest I can't proceed with it.

by not proceeding I meant cannot talk to delphine and not even console command can fix the cannot talk glitch. seems like it's Either a new save or just full on finish the "Diplomatic immunity" quest by console command

If you cant enter one place you should not try it, there is often one reason it is done that way.
Load old save.

Start a new game. Even if you were to finish Diplomatic immunity by using console commands, there is no telling what else may have been broken. You would just be compounding any problems by attempting to continue the game. And, as Mr. Monday said, from now on always keep a hard save, and save often: before using a command, before going through any load screens, before any major fight - and after; you get the idea.

I tend to keep hard saves. but once the save menu is over crowded I tend to trim some to save memory space, I just don't have the save that was before I did that.

I guess I don't have any other choice it's either I experiment and finish that quest using commands or just finish the whole storyline altogether(using commands) or start a new game. I was just doing some of the main and side quests to get some artifacts and power levelling to use for the quest mods.

What I do is I keep a separate save game folder where I keep my mods. I then move all my numbered saves to it except for the most current one. This way I'll usually only have around five or so numbered saves in my game. If I really screwed something up I can just delete all the current saves and then just copy in the save I'm going back to.

I lknow from personal experience that you can get issues like never being able to sleep ever again if you much around in the Thalmar embassy. Also the more you use console commands the more you really stuff up your game.

Restart a new game or reload a previous save!

Using console to make named saves is another way to be sure what a particular save is.

I guess I have no choice but to restart. or I could just ignore the main quest and just proceed with the quest mods. what do you guys think?

I think your game's still going to be messed up.

It seems like it :steamfacepalm:

I guess I'll start a new game then. I'm tired of being a vampire mage anyways. I guess I'll try being a vampire knight or Samurai

sorry for necro, but use the command "setstage MQ201 x" where x is 210-260 in incriments of 10, that solved the same issue for me

cheers
