[Sexiest Lady in the Wild West]

I've recently bought the Skyrim PC DVD from a thrift shop on vacation so it's second hand. Will my product key still work even if the older user used it b4? I can only check it on Saturday since I'm on vacation till Friday night.

Btw this isn't Steam key, its the PC DVD version. Also its the normal Skyrim, no DLC.

It means that you can't buy the game through the Steam store anymore, so you can only the game at a brick-and-mortar store. As long as the game's DVD case is unopened, you should still be good as far as using the key (I don't know for sure). But if the seal's broken and the case has been opened, I wouldn't bet on the key being available. Once a Steam key's used, it's pretty much permanent, and the PC version of Skyrim requires Steam to work.

OP, if the key is used, then it's useless. There's no way to transfer ownership either.

I bought it from a thrift shop for $5. My main point of buying it is for the poster but if the game still can be played, I'll probably ply it again. (Yes I've finished it b4 I bought this)

steam locked means steam is NEEDED to play the game, ie skyrim needs steam to work properly unless your a dirty pirate.

or like fallout 4, only part of the game is on the retail disc, so you need to add it to steam to get all the full game / dlc and to play etc. etc

also if your game is second hand and the key's all ready been redeemed on steam that copy you got is only good as a tea coaster

Any copy of the game is steam bound, so unless you coppy has not been bound to a steam account, yours will be useless.

Well, it said it has been activated b4... :( I gt find the owner somehow, hopefully I can find him.

"Finding" the person who redeemed the key is pointless - they can't transfer their game license to your account. The only people who could be held to reimburse you would be the thrift shop owners, and if you can't reach them any more, then that's the end of your $5.
