Bonestrewn Crest Glitch

Has anyone else encountered the glitch with Bonestrewn Crest? I have spent many hours trying to get around the problem, you are trying to obtain the word of power, you have defeated the dragon (which by the way dose not give up it's soul) and your standing in the semi circle, you have sound, but no illumination for word. No word of power is given.
From this point on none of the words of power are given up, you can no longer obtain hints from high hrothgar as to were to find words. Effectively your quest finishes at this point. I have replayed the game as several different characters but keep coming up against same problem.
Can anyone help before I pull all my hair out in desperation?

I'd suggest you sleep for a month in a small internal bedroom to let Skyrim totally reset.
When I recently had dragon falling from the sky into riften whenever I turned up there. Waiting or Sleeping for a month solved that issue for me.
Any bedroom you own would be a good spot probably.

Just make sure that it's at least a month, check start and finish days to be sure

Bonestrewn Crest is notoriously buggy; I have had problems with this location. Both UESP Skyrim Wiki and ElderscrollsWikia have suggestions about handling quest bugs. Eternie's suggestion is one of the methods to debug. Also, as a last resort, you can use a console command to force a conclusion to this quest. Consult the wikis for the exact commands.
