but on the other end the elderscrolls are so open to interpertation and inspiration that you can play as anything you like with whatever backstory you like.
TES has such a rich lore, it kinda makes me wonder what other races are out there that wasn't included in skyrim/oblivion. I haven't played the older titles.
ad one point azura explains that you are the main hero of the prophecy and it will spawn a host of predecessers that turns out big mix or races and genders. it was pritty cool to see even kajits and argonians (that mosly are shown as slaves in morrowind) to be the Nerevarine
