Why won't my spouse move to my house?
So I chose to marry Derkeethus from Darkwater crossing after I rescued him, and the first thing I noticed is that after the wedding he would sprint back to Darkwater crossing. Even if I talked to him he would continue moving and be out the door, and if I would leave right behind him he would be nowhere in sight

I got Windstad Manor ready for him and built all the beds I could. I found him back in Darkwater crossing, and I told him to go live there. He said ok... yet he never leaves. I've tried every single thing i can think of, including:

-Telling him to go live back at his home then reselecting Windstad
-Telling him to live in Whiterun instead (He wouldn't go there either)
-Wait a full day inside the home (I got lover's touch/embrace or whatever its called when I slept, yet he wasn't thre)
-Go spend a couple hours doing quests away from the places and then come back to see if he is there
-Tell him to live at his place, tell him to follow me, travel to Windstad, tell him to live at Windstad and tell him to stop following me (He went right out the door back to Darkwater)

When I go back to Darkwater he is never there either, but if I wait an hour he always appears in the exact same spot. How in the world can I get him to move his tail to the home I want him to go to?

"If married or recruited for the Blades, he will attempt to return to Darkwater Crossing every day, thus making him very hard to get hold of, since all purchasable homes and Sky Haven Temple are quite a long distance away from Darkwater Crossing.

You need the USLEEP (the Unofficial patch) - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71214

This is just one of the literally thousands of bugs which the Unofficial patch fixes (though, keep in mind, that some bugs cannot be fixed retroactively, but will require you to go back to a save made before the bugged event was triggered - or start a new game).

Whenever you run into a bug, http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim should be the first place you look for a solution - it is where we get the info and solutions from.

This has been a glitch in the game since day one. Sorry I have no answer for you. Hope someone can fix this for you.

Does this glitch happen randomly or is it with specific NPCs?

There are mods that let you marry anyone in the game. Not sure if using one of those would fix the code to get around the glitch. Good luck!

That is quite helpful, thanks.

I've done quite a bit since i've married Derkethus, so I won't have the option to reload back before I married him. I'm wondering if I have the option to remarry him if I install the skyrim divorce mod and divorce him and if that will fix the bug.
