Sacrosanct problems

ive been trying on and off for about a year now to get the mod Sacrosanct to work.
befor i had some missing abilities and another time i tried getting it to work my appearance wouldnt change to a vampire but now this time around NOTHING works and i keep getting an error message when i start a new game saying that another mod is modifying the vampire scripts? but i have disabled all vampire related mods except this 1 and i still get the error so i went back to the mod page to ask about it there and the nexus mod page is down :(

Are you using Better Vampires? If so, It replaces the vanilla vampire scripts with alternate modified scripts. After installing Better Vampires, the vanilla vampire scripts will be replaced with better vampires' scripts and they will not take effect if you disable or uninstall the mod. You always should enable Better Vampires after installing it. However, if you do use Better Vampires and Sacrosanct with the patch, you won't be able to get the bonuses from the Blue Blood quest. The reason you're missing abilities is because Better Vampires' scripts have been modified so that you automatically get all the hemomancy blood spells after you transform into a Vampire Lord for the first time and won't be obtainable unless you enable the Better Vampires mod.

Here's what you should do:
1) Download Better Vampires mod. If you have it, reinstall it and keep it in your load order. Make sure you also have the compatibility patch.
2) Start a new game with only Sacrosanct enabled. Don't use other mods like Royal Bloodline because they're incompatible with Sacrosanct. Avoid the Dragon at Midnight perk, because without the PlayerVampireQuest script taking proper effect, you will die in sunlight after three days. You have been warned.
3) Become a Vampire. Contract Sanguine Vampiris or make a potion of embracing. If you're having trouble becoming a vampire, you can open the console and type "Player.setrace (Your Character's Race)RaceVampire". Doesn't work with custom races.
4) Feed on your first victim to start the Blue Blood Quest and complete it ASAP.
5) After completing Blue Blood, turn off your game, then enable Better Vampires and the compatibility patch.
6) Once Better Vampires loads in your MCM, Open Better Vampires in your MCM, go to the troubleshooting and cleanup section right above the progression charts in the configuration menu and follow the instructions to update mod/fix issues listed to the right so the VampireQuestScript can reset.

After following the instructions to reset Better Vampires mod you should be set. One more thing: You might have issues with being a vampire if your using a custom race. Download this patch for custom races: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24168/

The VampireQuestScript may be overriden by this mod after installing the race compatibility patch. Reinstall Better Vampires after installing this mod if this happens.

Yeah, I know how you feel. Getting Better Vampires to work was a pain in the neck for me.

is there something wrong with my PlayerVampireQuestScript thingys?
the error message says thats whats been modified so do i need to replace those files somehow?

If you have Better Vampires installed, that message is normal. If you go to Better Vampires in your MCM go to Status and it's stuck at "Please feed to update" even if you keep feeding that means either you have to reset the Script or the VampireQuestScript belongs to another mod.

but i told it to uninstall and remove better vampires.
i only wanted to try out sacrosanct on its own.
did better vampire break the vampire scripts even tho its uninstalled?

You might have to wipe to vanilla and reinstall. Thank you for this post btw, was wondering what was going on.

Better Vampires didn't break the scripts, it just replaced them. If you read the installation instructions for Better Vampires it says: "make certain you back up the following files from your --Data--Scripts--Source folder: PlayerVampireQuestScript, PRKF_VampireFeedBeds_000CF02C, and VampireSunISMDEffectScript".

ok validating the files was a bad idea because now the game crashes on startup

Your game is syncronized to the cloud. You have to delete certain files then validate to get back to vanilla.

So I just tried to deactivate sacrosanct mod and now the game crashes before it even starts. I know it is this mod because I activated again and worked just fine. I have both better vamps and sacrosanct but than the feeding did not register on bvm so I thought I would deactivate sacrosanct well now I can not even start my game up after doing so. I mean skyrim period not saves because I planned on starting a new game anyways. Sorry if this has been addressed or if this is the wrong forum to post in.


Edit: Nevermind found the problem. It was as simple as having an armor set that I had that was for the mod and that was causing the crash. After deactivating that armor worked just fine. Volkihar knight armor sacrosanct patch I think.

I have a problem I think with Sacrosanct mod that my vampire lord perk tree crashes when clicking on a star of the perk tree. Any ideas?
