failed to extract plugin file from ckm

recently tried to uninstall all mods. but now, after reinstalling skyrim it's still broken and always pops up with "failed to extract plugin file from ckm" as soon as I launch skyrim.
anybody know hw to fix this

I have the same issue. I am using the Maximum Graphics Pack and most of the mods stopped working. They always crash with one of two pop ups, either
"archive bigger than entire mod! may be corrupt" or
"failed to extract plugin file from ckm"

even after verifying integrity it's still broken. can't find how to fix this online

getting the same thing. just reinstalled skyrim for the first time in years and this is what I get. am interested in response

did you do a clean install or just a normal reinstall of skyrim? clean install also removes settings files and clean out the whole skyrim folder

and the ckm error is related to the steam workshop.
> unsubscribe from the mod
> remove all left over files from that mod from your skyrim folder
> (optional) restart PC
> subscribe anew and let it download again

I solved mine by just unsubscribing to every mod. which was needed, I had a lot of trash

Okay, even though i did not solve the problem, i am starting to sense a bit of a pattern. All mods that crash on startup seem to change the terrain in some way, e.g. Towns and Villages Enhanced, Detailed Outskirts and Real Glaciers V2.
I do not know if that's the reason for crashing but maybe it has something to do with it.
