It's not entirely Bethesda's decision. The bigwigs at Zenimax also have a say in this, as Bethesda is a Zenimax subsidiary. Sure, SOME of the blame is Bethesda's, but a large part of it belongs to the Zenimax leadership.

This again?:steamfacepalm:

The regular Oldrim is still available here on Steam if you just click the 'Store Page' at the upper right of this forum page.

Hit up Google to find the DLCs. They are sold on many websites as well as here on Steam. Look at the stickies for more information.

For starters, 5 second Google search, buy Skyrim DLCs, don't know the reliability of the sites, but there were 6 sites on the first page, can't put them here as Steam won't allow them to be opened.

Elder Scrolls Legendary Edition on Amazon for $20, just take your money elsewhere and hit them where it hurts, in their pocket.

If you can't run it, I recommend you upgrade your PC when you can. SE is much more stable and at this point it's just about as moddable as LE.

I probably wouldn't have moved over if my saves didn't corrupt all the time. It was maddening.

Steam is just one on many retailers. My Oldrim came from Newegg, the Oblivion dlc to replace the GOTY version was from Kinguin. The Fallouts and Call of Duty came from a bogo at Target.
Others are from Humble Bundle.

As I've been saying, sooner or later bethesda is going to try and stop people from modding oldrim, because they want absolute control over how people play the game, and of course the profits off what is essentially endless DLC content.

And no doubt they're also in talks with steam to find a way to force people to update their game whether they like it or not, just to put a permanent end to fan-made mods.

This is why monopolies are bad, because if you have a monopoly they WILL abuse their power. We have no alternatives to go to and they know it. We play their game or we simply don't have a fantasy game that we can make our own. Its really sickening and its why I'll never buy another bethesda product. Really, none of us should be doing so. Look, the game is dead one way or another, and we can't do anything about it. We should just stop feeding bethesda, if they don't see the light then they'll cave as a company. It would serve them right.

I don't like that, with Special Edition, achievements are disabled when using mods (like any unofficial patches, which, because they still couldn't get it right, are required for the game to be playable!).

Glad I have the original.

Yeah, don't know if they will get that carried away forcing people out of the game, that would just bring too much grief to their front door, i have moved to SE but in my opinion only, i still think Skyrim V looks better, but SE certainly runs better, problem is to, that Bethesda will be bringing out the next Elder Scrolls as well, so really, we have no other options unless devs, individually pull the plug and jump ship elsewhere.
