Guard Armor Replacer bug
So I found the Guard Armor Replacer mod (very cool Nexus mod that changes the hold guard armor to look less generic), but I keep running into this significant problem:

There's some kind of conflict that I haven't quite figured out yet. I manually move GAR's esp file to the bottom of my load list (LOOT doesn't help here, since it moves it WAY up half-way to the top of my load list), and yet every time I load the game, the guards wear mixed pieces of the new armor and the standard version of the hold guard armor.

I have Immersive Armors, but it does not appear on my Mod Config Menu, so I can't change that any way.

Is this on an existing save? Did you check with Posts on Nexus? The first one specifies a fix for what you're experiencing on an existing save file. It also says to disable certain guard armor variants in the Immersive Armor's MCM.

yes it is on an existing save. and yes, i went to Nexus: their answer was "just disable variable guard helmets" on Immersive Armor in MCM: which i can't do. i posted my specific problem and they haven't given me any answers.

"resetinventory" doesn't work. it puts them back in their standard armor and deletes the modified armor from their inventory (i know this because i tried to bypass a conflict between the Housecarl add-on and Bijin Warmaidens by disabling just the add-on, and putting Lydia in this armor with console commands: when i put the armor on her, it's the standard hold guard gear). also, the armor appears in my inventory to look modded, but when i put it on, it's the standard hold guard armor

Got it. Sorry it didn't work. I haven't personally used this mod, lets see if others respond who have had the same issue.

for anyone else who might be seeing this: ONLY the heavy armor variation reverts back to the standard hold guard version. i've double-checked this.
Hey, I know it has been a while since, but if you never manage to solve it. Today I get the exactly same bug with that mod (Guards wear the vanilla gloves and boots), I realise that the conflict comes with a mod called "Cloaks of Skyrim", maybe you got the same mod install, if not that means you got a mod that directly interact with the guards armor. Immersive armors is not the soruce of the conflict, because I got that mod install too (I just uncheck the option of "diferent helmets for guards" ) and things run good.

I do have Cloaks of Skyrim, and I unchecked the varied helmets option. I got it to work on both Legendary and Special Edition Skyrim, but there are some anomalies. On my main save, everything seems to work fine. But on several of my alts, the gloves and boots are the original kind and the chest-piece, helmet, and shield are altered.

I manage to solve it by not using the mod of Cloaks of Skyrim or use the "only player" version of the mod, both solutions seem to work fine
