The Book of Love quest is broken

Dinya Balu won't give Me the dialogue prompt to start it. I force the quest to start with "setstage T02 10" and I get no quest markers, no dialogue prompt from Fastred, and even the quest's description in my quest log is blank! I don't know what the hell to do!

Any ideas?

Game quite often has glitched quests, if loading an earlier save doesn't work, then check the various wikis for solutions, and if that doesn't work.... either play on without it or start a new game.

If you do start a fresh game, then the unofficial patch reduces the number of glitches and bugs, but nothing short of a complete redesign of the game will stop them.

I can never get that quest to start anymore even if it's a new game. btw did you talk to her parents?

According to https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Book_of_Love, The quest begins by interacting with Dinya in the Temple of Mara (quest may not prompt when she is spoken to in the market or tavern). Some information has indicated that she may give you an amulet of Mara. This may need to be equipped during the quest playthrough.

Seems like that's my only option left. The number of hours I'll lose. The number of times I've had to do ♥♥♥♥ on this game alone. I first entered Riften several hours worth of progress ago. If THAT doesn't even work. Ugh. People talk about Bethesda's new ♥♥♥♥ being lazily left full of bugs. Well, after "Upgrading Skyrim to PC" for myself, I'd like to chip in on that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with Skyrim itself. Part of that could just be from the amount of mods I have but still. And my brand new Windows 10 (As of back towards the beginning of the year) should be able to handle it. Some of these bugs I've seen happen TOO easily!

Do that before you decide to do this. OP! You're permanently locked out of that quest for no definitive reason. Do a misc. quest before you decide to head in there, OP! That person will now stay there forever and never go to where they're supposed to be. Do a certain command with a specific follower, OP! Now they're locked in wait mode and don't respond telling you to keep following again unless you dismiss them then tell them to accompany you again. Talk to someone outside of their usual area, OP! They will now longer give you their quest that you're supposed to pick up in their usual area! UGH!

Those are all in Riften except for the follower thing. I experienced that with Aela.

I really hope your suggestion works.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND THAT DIDN'T EVEN WORK! This quest has pretty much said ♥♥♥♥ YOU to Me! >:(

Did you also start the "Spread the Love" quest she offers? If you did, she will not offer the book of love quest until the previous one is finished.

No... Wiki also says she won't offer that until after you've completed The Book of Love.

Sorry that it doesn't work. I have also searched online and not found any information beyond what we already know.
