SKYRIM LAUNCHER ONLY HAS OPTION TO INSTALL. PLS HELP

So ive recently installed skyrim on a new computer, the first time i booted up the launcher i had a windows pop up asking if i wanted to install a .ckm file (or something like that). i clicked no and i got the error message saying that it couldnt extract ckm file (or something like that. i was wondering how i can fix this issue? thanks

delete everything in the skyrim folder in steam/steamapps/common/skyrim and then uninstall, and then reinstall, and then verify.

then restart your computer.

don't forget the stuff in C:\Users\<YOURNAME>\AppData\Local\Skyrim
and My Games/Skyrim

And one file will ALWAYS come up as failed:
"1 file will always fail to validate. It is related to how Steam detects your graphic card configurations and does not have any negative effect to your game.
Steam can't check your graphic card configurations, because they are in use. This is not a problem, because that file should be managed by your own computer and settings any way."

Don't waste your time reinstalling the whole game.
Typically NEVER listen to anyone telling you to delete your game and reinstall. There's always a way to fix things. Unless you're dropping loose files into your game folder.

You're getting the INSTALL ONLY option because you ran the launcher through a Mod Manager most likely. You need to run the launcher from the game folder. Then it will detect your hardware settings, install direct X, and let you open settings. Once you've done that, just close the launcher. You can now use SKSE via your mod manager.
