Mercer Frey's Basement
I'm at the part of the Thieve's Guild questline where you retrieve his plans from the basement area of his house. I've gotten the plans but the axes that swing along with the battering ram always kill me even when I'm not running in to them. Anyone having a similar problem? Also, whenever I open doors and occasionally at random, objects will fly around at high speeds for no reason. Any help is appreciated.

Seems like your frame limit is above 60, which can cause weird issues with this game. I suggest turning vsync on to limit your frames to 60 and see if that helps. Unfortunately I can't help with the swinging axes, I have never been killed by those even in Bleak Falls Barrow, just sprint through em'.

Thanks, I'll try it

The ones in Mercers place are a bit different.

The blades swing at a 2/1 ratio to the battering ram. So when you start, run to the middle past the first set of blades, where the ram was, wait for the swing, then run past the second set of blades before the ram swings back.

I got the timing down, I'm pretty sure. The thing is that the axes and ram kill me when they aren't touching me. I might record it or something. But I have a save in the room before encountering the axes. I stand there for like a minute and the axes hit me a couple times. Like without being remotely close.

Since your game is bugged out for this part of the quest I reccommend switching to god mode to get past the trap. Then switch back once past it. It's not cheating since the quest is bugged to begin with.

Could also try wearing better armor for that part. (including head armor)

Then duel weild two restoration spells when going through.

Having some health potions would probably help too.

Become Etheral and Whirlwind Sprint shouts can be useful there as well.

I don't have any shouts at this point. (I've beaten the game a couple times on console and on PC and I know that I probably should have gotten shouts, but I just wanted to see how far I could go without being the dragonborn)
