cheats to buy a home!

hi there, I'd like to buy a house in markarth... so I can adopt a child... BUT everytime I try to buy one or cheat it in they don't read it as me owning a house! >=( is there a way I can even do this with console commands/cheat codes. setstage favor250 15 is great for finishing the quest BUT I DONT OWN IT according to the kid anyways... help me? plz?

you should be able to just use the setstage command to complete a quest to become thane in whatever hold and then just buy the deed normally from whoever sells it then adopt a kid, s'what I did to brute force the achievement in SE

Also use this on both the jarl and the guy who sells you the decorations

the dlc adopt cheats will not work with the vanilla script
ppl tested it and it locked them out of the buggy aduption system

there's no way around it
you'll have to buy the kids bedroom in person.

aah right, gotta buy the bedroom. I actually didn't have to do anything with the relationship rank though

Yes but is there no way to do it all within the console? I'd like to make a bat script and call it whenever I want to buy a home in say markarth with all excessories or whatnot then adopt the child.

I came up with a batch file to do something similiar but it leaves out certain aspects and is very buggy

paste the file vindrelbuys.txt into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim
to run it press the tilde key ~` and type bat vindrelbuys

it should allow you to buy a home in markarth and completes several quests, be warned you won't be able to perform certain quests, invite your wife to your house, or adopt children using it. I'd be grateful if someone fixed it for me.

I strongly caution you not to use console commands to cheat your way into a house. It will cause problems later one. Console commands are to be used only to fix bugs which cannot be resolved any other way. You can easily break your game.

Nevertheless, there is no way to secure the children's room after you've cheated a house. The steward must know that you've bought it first.

If you must cheat, then just give yourself enough gold to buy it. You will still need to do the requisite quests to gain the Jarl's favor. Again, cheating those quests will eventually break your game.

I know that. The point in that is to cheat your way into a house. And bypass the jarls favor. Still don't know how to register it for children.
