Resetting a letter/note to how you found it?
It it possible to entirely reset a book item to found condition? (Removing the read tag, which I know is there thanks to good ol' SkyUI!) The issue is that in a mod I have installed, Legacy of the Dragonborn, one of the required quests for it, The Visage, counts on the completion of two quests, one of which I think might have bugged out, which is the reason I'd like to know how to do this, preferrably through a console command, as the quest Much Ado About the Snow Elves is triggered by that event.

Why not ask Ice about it on the mod page? I'm sure he or the others have an idea or two.

Not entirely sure why, but every time I make a post on the nexus page it seems to get deleted, not really sure why that is.

You could find the counts of the sequence of those quest lines using the player.sqs <quest id> (get the id for the quest from the skyrim wiki), and then use the player.setstage <quest id> <next count: as in 10, 20, 40, 50, ... 200> of the sequence. As in: player.setstage DA04 200. This will progress past the broken point in your quest.

Forgot to say that when you look it up the count to right in sequence is 0 / 1 (i.e., example: 10: 0). Setstage on the one's after the 1 count.

Not sure why that would be. I've been using that mod since it came out and have always got my questions answered.

Actually, the best and ideal way of fixing this (or other similar problem) is to go back to an earlier save. Console commands should only be a very last resort as they can break your game. The console is, after all, a developer's tool - not a game play aid. (Don't know how many times we tell people this, yet they don't seem to pay attention - until their game does break, and we get a post from them on the forum asking why their game doesn't work.)

Problem is I don't want to go back to a preious save- super far back.

If you can get a command for that, you can try it - just make sure you make a hard save first; but be aware that using the console may cause even more problems and totally break your game, thus forcing you to go back whether you want to or not. Unless Icecreamassassin informs you that it is okay to progress the questline using a specific command - and gives you the command to use - I would strongly recommend not going that route.

Just took a quick look at the mod site - did you check this page for anything relating to your problem:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/articles/49907/?
If your problem is listed here, and a command is given, then it is probably safe to use it (but still make a hard save before doing so just in case).
