When should I do the civil war quest line?
For immersion reasons, should I do the civil war during the main quest or after the main quest?.

If I were to do the latter, I would have done the season unending quest and when joining, Rilke/galmar 's dialogue would probably remain the same and it kinda sounds as if you never met them before in season unending and treat you like a rookie, and it would be weird because u defeated Alduin by then. However, I would feel much better being the neutral party during season unending.

I could finish the civil war before getting up to the point of season unending but I'm not doing that. I would very much like to play the peace conference quest in my current playthrough.

What option you think would be more immersive and why?

not really a matter of immersion Civil War Quest is bugged, usually do it after the main quest, however for immersion i suppose it's best done first as it's one of the first " claim to fame quests " that you hear about after your escape

I guess i could do the imperial questline while doing the main quest.

Its gonna be starnge however asking ulfric to come to the peace treaty even after joining the legion. Right in stormcloak hq. Lol!

Only bugged if you don't finish it before you try to catch a dragon in Whiterun, otherwise it's fine.

not using Civil war overhaul and yes that's what causes it to flip out, also doing the The Forsworn Conspiracy after you win with the Imperials won't complete that quest even with USLEEP,remember immersion is something you create yourself as part of your character, mine doesn't like politics

I dont mind doing forsworn conspiracy before doing any civil war/main quest stuff . And i wsnt aware the civil war quest gets bugged after seasins unending.

Looks like i gotta make separate saves now. Gunna be a pain.

the other thing to consider is your level doing it at a lower lvl is much more fun, at lvl 60 it's way to easy when i first started playing it was the first quest i did

it would be funny just doing the civil war quest before you start the actual main story line

I rarely ever even do the Civil war questline. It seems too 'staged' and unrealistic.
