What mod makes me equip a torch when I exist a merchant dialog?

I'm using tons of mods and was able to more or less stabilize them. However, there's one annoying glitch which I can't seem to track down, so I'd like to ask if anyone could help.

Whenever I close the dialog window after talking with a merchant, I'm automatically equipped with a torch.

It's quite annoying as it is, but when it happens in rainy weather it also puts out the torch which aggravates the issue a lot, since it's almost pitch black in caves and at night with my environment so using torch is quite essential.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem as mine? If so, please let me know.

I don't think that's a mod's doing...i actually think it's some type of conflict.

Try to play without a single mod...just to see if it's not some odd bug. If the issue dissapears do the following.

Find out when the issue started appearing. If you found that out, then you can find the mod(s) causing the conflict.

----------

If you have added all mods at once, then you may want to redo it all and install say 10 mods and test the game then. If the issue is still happening, then tou know it's one of those 10 mods.

I think it's definitely a mod conflict since it happened recently and I've always been tinkering with my mod list.

Probably I'll have to try removing random mods to track it down, but I really wish I could do so witout it. It's a real hassle with 300+ mods + Requiem, which means I'll have to deal with dependency issues and run several generators - like Reqtificator, FNIS, and so on whenever I remove big chunks of the mods.

That's a feature from one of the mods I'm using, probably Realistic Torches, I guess. I really like the realism it provides, so I just wish it wouldn't happen by a glitch like the one I described above.

Have you also sorted the load order with LOOT? Could you also post your load order?

Best thing to do is remove 50% of the mods. If the conflict is still there, it's one of those remaining 50% so you'll just have to keep taking half. ( you can ignore texure mods, tose shouldn't be an.issue)

I don't really see any mods that could be conflicting with each other .But that is alot of "hardcore" mods that you have on your game, i'm honestly suprised it doesn't crash every 2 seconds :D


One thing that does need to change...would be the load order (unoficial legendary Edition patch along with the DLC should be on the top of your load order) just let LOOT sort it for you.

I also notice a few mods that change things that have to do with torches.

-SM Drop Lit Torches
-Proper Torch Wield - Smoking torches patch
-Smoking Torches
-Realistic Torches
-Better Stealth AI for Followers - No Torch while Sneaking
-Double Torch Radius (this one shouldn't be an issue but for the sake of it just disable it)

You may have already tried this, but it may be a good idea to remove those, and then test it.

Have you used MO to let it auto sort your left side? Dont do that, you also have other issues there. You need to tinker whit your load.

The list I've posted is exported from MO, so it's in reverse order. And it also represents a data order (left pane in MO) rather than plugin (right pane - esp list) order. They largely coincides but not always. (Requiem and Skyrim patches are in their proper places on the right panel, for instance.)

Probably I should have posted the plugin list instead of that, but it only shows name of each esp file, so it's sometimes difficult to see where they come from.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions everyone. I guess the problem was too dependent on my specific mod selection and setup to expect an immediate answer.

I'll try to spend some time to remove some of the suspicious mods to pinpoint where the culprit is.

Post your right side to. Do know that Requiem want the plugins in odd order. Dont use it my self but other here do.
Uses MO my self.
It may be one easy error.

I know there are a few mods that are placed in odd spots in the middle. But as far as Requiem and Skyrim patches go, I suppose it's at least safe.

I'm already in a mid-game with this setup, so can't really do any extensive mod reordering without messing up the save files. So, I'm hoping it might be fixed without doing that.

Thanks for the help. If I ever start over again, I'll definitely clean up my mods to make it more sensible.

But this time, I'm not really asking for generic check ups on my mod order, but specific hint to solve the torch problem I mentioned.
