Movarths Lair! Wow!
I'm sure it's going to be something way obvious BUT, once I'm in there with trusty sidekick, Lydia, we kill off what seems to be the "henchmen". Low level guys I assume. THEN, run into 3,4, or 5 dudes with massive skills. We are getting our asses kicked everytime! I think I've tried everthing in my arsenel to stop this bunch. And where's the angry mob that came with me? I'm open to any suggestions.

Got it. Find a good bow. I have some run of the mill thing. Plenty of arrows though! Both steel and iron/. Poison- I have dozens of different kinds. Anyone in particular? Right now I'm pretty deep into this lair. Managed to get MOST of the guys in here. A few stragalers left. That I can see anyway.

For future playthroughs, and since you've mentioned being a CoD player (I've played some of the games myself), think of this mission as being like the first flashback mission from Modern Warfare. Snipe your enemies. Take it slow and stealthy, and only attack when the time is right. A tempered, fire-enchanted/lighting-enchanted bow works really well here.

When first going into the banquet area of that dungeon, you have a choice of what path to take. The obvious choice is to just go forward, but right to the left, there's another path that takes you around and behind, so that you're flanking them. Try that.

When it comes to the angry mob, they're with you up until you actually reach Movarth's lair. At that point, their collective sense of self-preservation kicks in and they turn tail on you.

all the best.

Along with the Lord stone, do the Book of Love quest, from the Priestess of Mara in Riften. At the end, you get another 15% magic resistance.
