'Proving Honor' glitched to death, need help please T_T;
Hello!
(Sorry, I am not a native English-speaker, don't mind me)
To give context,
I started Skyrim about 5-6 years ago, and finished some important quests (MSQ/Companions ect) with having no issues.
However, 2 years ago I wanted to play Skyrim again and went up to the grey-beards before stop playing it again (was too annoying to climb the mountain back <_<; and I already had the companion quest by then)

Buuut, now, I started playing it again on this save, and got up to level 60, A LOT of progression done... And wanted to progress in the companion quest to unlock the werewolf morph.

Turns out, my quest "Proving Honor" was greyed out, with goal 4 not done.

I was confused and scrolled on a lot of threads on internet but nothing helped, I did resetquest, setstage, yada, yada. But nothing worked

One moment, the quest got back to white but still no goals succeeded, and another moment, the quest completly disappeared from my quest list (and when I try to get a quest to the Companions, they all say that Skjor already gave me a quest x_x;) and so I'm litterally stuck

Is there really no way to fix this..? I'm getting desesperate <_<

Do you actually want to finish the quest the proper way or would you like to skip it and move on? I know there's another mainquest mission wich can possibly asign the same dungeon and can in some cases break the companion questline. Easiest way to sort this would be just to skip proving honor trough the console.

Honestly, any way to get past this quest is welcome. I already did this quest in the past, I don't recall what was the "circle" thing about, but I could look it up to remember xD
As far as I unblock my Companion quest line, I'll be happy ^^'

Open the console (usually that's the "`~" key. Then type in : setstage C01 40
If that doesn't work for you.. try setstage C01 200 instead. The first one completes step 4 wich is what you said you're bugged out on. The latter one completes the quest outright and lets you move onto the next one.

Unfortunately, already did both but the quest litterally disappeared from both finished and current quest list ^^'

So that didn't fix it and you can't take any further missions then? You could try to do "resetquest c01" instead and see if it pops back into your quest log.

Edit: otherwise try "completequest c01" wich should just complete it for you. If not, try "completequest c02" instead. I'd recommend against it but by skipping the second quest it might let you start the third one.

If none of that works... This may sound a bit silly but go up to some companion blokes, and whack them in the face a few times till they kick you out. Then run out and get arrested. Serve your time or escape whatever takes your fancy and then see if you can rejoin them.

Oh! I could try that. I'll try it whenever I have a house ^^

Alas, you can not get kicked from the Companions.
The very least is that they make you pay a bribe. Nothing else :/

I tried resetquest, completequest, setstage, all the things I could do.
I tried to find a debug mod, nothing there too.

I really want to unlock this quest, and get to have the werewolf morph too.
Especially that I am trying to get all the achievements of the game :tcry:

I need help >< I don't know if there is an actual possible way to fix this :/

The quest is not even in my "Current quest" or "Finished quest" list anymore,
when I get the infos from the quest, it says that all my stages are set to "0" (aka unfinished, I guess?) but it's counted as "finished" as well, since I can't put stages...
And whenever I talk to anybody from the Companions, I always get the "Skjor already gave you a quest" :/

... I scrolled tons of internet pages, in English and in French, yet, nothing to fix it >_<

You actually are giving me hope ;u;

I have "Kill the bandit leader of Treva's Watch"...?

Yes, it is one common issue whit companions quests.
Dont forget to save often, and only hard saves, skip quick saves.

I stopped using Quick Saves since I recently started using mods.
I just did the bandit leader kill quest, but it's for a girl called Anuriel, probably a jarl quest, would it still -may- help me to unlock my issues with companions? @@

Similar radiant quests will block others of the same type - even if they are for different factions. You must complete one before another of the same type will be given. Once you complete it, it should open up the questline again.
