Do not try to keep a "clean" quest log - it is just about impossible. As to using console commands to advance or complete quests, that should only be done if you encounter a bug that prevents the quest from progressing, and only after you have exhausted all other options; for that, you should see the appropriate page in the uesp wiki (look under the page's Bug section) - go to http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim for this.
If you get into the habit of using commands to advance and/or complete quests, you will more than likely end up breaking your game and we will not be able to help you, the only solution being to go back to a save made prior to the use of the commands (if you could even determine which command it was that caused the problem) or, much more likely, you would have to start a new game. And ALWAYS make a manual save before using any console command - just in case.
Like I said; this is no biggie, I'll ignore it unless someone knows a way to clean it out of my quest log :P
Edit - unless there is a mod that gets rid of it - I haven't seen one, but with all the mods out there, you never know.
I certainly could be wrong but I have never gotten the quest unless I talk to Delphine after completeing Alduins Wall and following the dialogue which leads to the quest.
So now I'm stuck with this misc marker... It tilts me just a little.
I'm with you on Paarthnurnax I like him too.
Do you use mods? There is a mod called the Paarthurnax Dilemma that allows you to continue with the Blades and not kill the Mario dragon.
Thats not the issue, I accept the story as it is (even though this part does not make much sense for me).
if the Blades want to be stupid, fine, they can rot in their sanctuary, I just want their quest marker gone from my quest log xD
Get the mod. Basically all you do is tell the Blades that they are being stupid and the quest ends. Your problem is solved, and life goes on.
use ~
setobjectivecompleted freeformskyhaventemplea 10 1
if you have brought a follower in already, the last two numbers might change to 20 1
or 30 1 depending on what stage you are at in the quest.
This bugged the crap out of me until i found the answer.
You can also remove any quest that way by finding the ref id of the quest and using the setobjectivecompleted [refid] 10 1 command
