Skyrim crashes when I open a chest?
I am slightly new to playing Skyrim, have never played it. Anyways I was in the beginning of my story choose imperial side, and well I am now in this underground dungeon, and well everytime I open the chest my game crashes, I deselected all mods, keep crashing when opening chests, I uninstalled the game and reinstalled keeps crashing too. I also verified integrity of game files before and after reinstall. and it keeps saying 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired. Please help

that one file seems to be normal for skyrim...

Are you using MO or NMM?
are you mergeing mods? if so double check that all archives are activated( a solution i discovered a few hours ago for the exact same reason as you have posted!)

Not sure what MO or NMM is
I was merging mods but it kept crashing and I wasnt really sure where to put them in the nexus manager, I was using over 10 mods now 4-5, but even without the mods it crashes when I open the chests.

That's Nexus Mod Manager, the one you are using.

The mods you did have, did you use LOOT to sort them?

With nexus mod, they have this category system? https://i.imgur.com/H8BB0e5.png
I at least think this is how you put the mods in XD? I might be retarded

I dont need to check that png.
You cant sort your mods that way, you need to use LOOT.

Check the pinned topics, there is one tread called spreadshead or similar. Read that one.

Thanks for helping me sort my mods properly, but I dont really see how this is going to solve my issue? when even without mods when I check my inventory or open a chest my skyrim crashes and verifying integrity of game files says there is always 1 file missing and will be installed but never is installed.

Let's back up a bit:
1. You have modded your game using Nexus Mod Manager
2. In a particular dungeon, the game crashes every time you opened a specific chest.
3. To fix #2, you
a. deselected all mods -> chest opening still crashes
b. uninstall/reinstall game -> chest opening crashes
(the 1 missing file in validation is normal and not to be worried about)

If the above is correct, please confirm:
- for 3a, you opened the same save file WITHOUT the mods installed, tried to open the chest and it crashed
- for 3b, you installed the game WITH or WITHOUT mods, and tried to open the chest which crashed

Be aware that the way Skyrim modding works, the game gets unstable when you remove mods while in the middle of playing a character (you can usually ADD new mods, but removing them is a bad idea). Opening the same save without the mods installed would pretty much guarantee that you will crash.

Did you try any of the following, with the mods active:
= not opening the chest, exit dungeon, create new save, quit game, open new save, enter the dungeon and open chest again - does it crash?
= starting a new game with the same mod list - does it crash?
= leave the dungeon without completing it, and going somewhere else (does it crash?)
= check UESP wiki for your quest/dungeon, maybe it is a known bug? UESP usually has a lot of helpful info for this kind of thing.

Then PLEASE PLEASE read the player spreadsheet pinned topic in the top of the Discussion Forums and learn how to properly mod your game. Many times crashes happen because of conflicts in your load order, and the player spreadsheet will give you what you need to learn how to fix it. (There's a lot of reading ahead of you, TBH)

Step 2: list all your mods in the order they are loaded, then read the mod description. They usually specify if other mods should load before or after them, FOLLOW those instructions.

Step 3: some mods have requirements. Make sure you have all the prerequisites!

Finally, copy your load order to this topic so people on the forum can actually give some directed advice.

Here's my load order:

00 Skyrim.esm
01 Update.esm
02 Skyrealism
03 Realshelter
04 Immersive patrols II vanilla
05 Medieval furor from Oblivion
06 MedievalArmory
07 Germangothic
08 realistic piercing arrows
09 Duel combat realism
0A Realistic Melee range

I had some other mods in there but they kept crashing skyrim so I just removed them and stuck with these.

So I sorted my mods with LOOT, then made a patch with Wrye Bash, and well now everytime I open the game I am in this walking animation I cant move any direction nor am I moving a step forward just walking on the same position and doing a walk animation, I tried to remove Duel combat realism, but that didnt work.

I'm having the same issue as we speak Libo, how did you correct it?
