Steam overlay think shift key is being held!
So far it only seems to be a problem when playing Skyrim, and ONLY in the chat box, never the browser. Essentially if I shift-tab to bring up the overlay, it will randomly start pretending I am holding my shift key, changing the case of letters and numbers into there cooresponding symbols on the keyboard.

For example:

Normal: "Just playing Skyrim... for about 7 hours today :P "

Otherwise: "jUST PLAYING SkYRIM>>> FOR ABOUT & hoURs toDAY ;p '

That is seriously how it will be typed out if I don't do... something... so far I have found that going wild on the keyboard will clear the error, but only until the next time I type into the chatbox. Even then it isn't entirely consistent, but seems to be a problem 80% of the time.

For what it's worth I am using a 360 controller to play the game and yes my game is heavily modded.... but would that really screw with the steam chatbox though?

I kind of doubt that mods would affect the overlay, but I could be wrong. Try it without the controller and see if it changes anything.

I'm on phone now so can not provide you with screenshots... see your keyboard settings, it has to be somewhere about how you cancel CAPs - with CAPs key again... or with Shift...

there's always been something screwy with using capslock while in skyrim then going to the overlay, my guess is that's what's causing the problem. I have a similar thing happening to me, but it's not at all random and I just have to toggle things to fix the weird shifting/caps
