The armor you have given her should be among the list with the armor/ clothes she is currently wearing. The clothes / items she is wearing will have 'worn' listed at the end of the line.
So you can see the ID of the clothes she is wearing.
You can use unequipitem ( clothes ID) 1 ... there will be a message for the success of that ... and at times you will need to do that twice.
Then the armor you want her to wear
(again all while in the console with her ID shown on screen.)
type equipitem (ID code you can see in her showinventory list) 1
If you want to be thorough and don't want her to revert to her standard gear
You can removeitem (ID code from her list) 1 ... do that twice or until it says she has none of them.
It can cause areas to take a long time to load ... as all the changes you make take effect. Or at worst you may get crashing when ever you approach a area.
So make Named hard saves that you can go back to .... before any tinkering.
Named hard saves can be done in console "save ThisIsWhereIStartedToRuinSkyrim"
Another suggestion when you make a hard save through the save menu .... delete your quicksave. So that your quicksave doesn't have remnants from all over skyrim.
