The Main Quest Felt Very Short ( Spoilers )
I have 100 hours on Skyrim, 50 of those were spent on a character the I cheated with so I made a new one. The next 50 hours was spent doing the main quest on the side, while I did the Dark Brotherhood, part of the Civil War, and just some one off side quests. I really didn't do that much.
When I got to Black Reach and found the Elder Scroll I thought I was only a quarter of the way through, then I defeated Alduin at the Throat of The World. I thought that this was just the beginning to my long quest to save Tameriel . When I went to Savenguard like an hour later, and I had to defeat Aludin, I again thought this was just leading to a finale boss battle, but NO! It was very anticlimactic and easy, I had like 20 followers that came, and just spammed Dragonrend and shot arrows from a far. I think for the next game, there should be more to the main story. At least 50 hours. Just to see for your self how you fell about it, hear are all the quests.

Unbound – Escape the village of Helgen, which is under attack by Alduin.

Before the Storm – Journey to Whiterun and speak with Jarl Balgruuf about the dragon attack.

Bleak Falls Barrow – Delve into an Ancient Nordic Ruins to recover the Dragonstone, a map of
dragon burial sites.

Dragon Rising – Fight and kill your first Dragon at the Western Watchtower.

The Way of the Voice – Journey to High Hrothgar and meet with the mysterious Greybeards.

The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller – Journey to a given set of Ancient Nordic Ruins to recover the horn of the Greybeards' founder.

Diplomatic Immunity 2
Delphine sends the Dragonborn to investigate the Thalmor.

A Blade in the Dark – Meet with Delphine, One of the last survivors of the Blades and learn more about the Dragon Threat.

Diplomatic Immunity – Infiltrate the Thalmor Embassy to find out what the Aldmeri Dominion knows about the Dragons.

A Cornered Rat – Journey through the Ratway of Riften to find the other member of the Blades before the Thalmor do.

Alduin's Wall – Journey to Sky Haven Temple with the Blades to learn the secret of Alduin's Wall.

The Throat of the World – Meet with the leader of the Greybeards, the dragon Paarthurnax, to learn how to defeat Alduin.

Elder Knowledge – Delve into Blackreach in search of one of the fabled Elder Scrolls to learn the shout needed to defeat Alduin.

Alduin's Bane – Battle Alduin with Paarthurnax at the top of the Throat of the World.

Season Unending – Negotiate a peace treaty between the Imperial Legion and the .

The Fallen – Prepare a trap for Odahviing, the right-hand dragon of Alduin, at Dragonsreach.

The World-Eater's Eyrie – Pursue Alduin through an Ancient Dragon Temple to the realm of Sovngarde.

Sovngarde – Journey through Sovngarde to the Hall of Heroes to enlist the help of three ancient heroes to fight Alduin.

Dragonslayer – Destroy Alduin once and for all!

Epilogue – Return to Nirn and reap the rewards of your triumph.

That is like 20, this could be finished in a day, probably at the quickest 6 hours or less. I just hope for the next game the Main Story is much longer and in depth.

And there's your first problem...

Yeah having 20 followers would do that, plus fast travel, and any cheats you may have done to make it go a little faster. I don't know Oblivion wasn't too long either, you got so many side quests and everything as well. (However the Collage/brotherhood/Thieves guild felt more shorter, but oh well).

I finished the main quest for the first time after like 600 hours of play

The key of the main quest line is to NOT power through it. take your time, do side quests, favor quests, thane quests etc.. build a house, become a master assassin, thief / whatever.

in a new playthrough I'm doing, I'm level 32 and haven't even gone near Helgen (I used alternate start to begin somewhere far from it)

Add some "immersive mods" you'll see how your story plays out. It may not add much but... its the little things...
