Possible conflict with Convenient Horses mod
The mod works great except for a few things:

1. When my or my follower's horse initiates the pawing-on-the-ground animation, the sound effect goes off but the animation doesn't. The horses keeping doing their idle animation. All other horses in Skyrim don't have this problem and do the animation with the sound effect properly.

2. Setting the horse AI to foolhardy does not make the horse attack enemies at all, it just stands at its original position and never moves.

3. The option to fast dismount if I am in combat, or all the time, does not work and I have to manually bind a key to do it.

I've tried all the troubleshooting options on the mod page and cleaned my save game twice. Each time I disabled the mod the horses had their missing animations restored immediately. I am suspecting there's a possible conflict with one of my mods, but I am not sure which. I have everything sorted with LOOT and cleaned my save game with Save Game Scalpel.

Two things:

First post your LOOT sorted mod list here - it is easier for people to reference (as to posting load order, just click on the 3 verticle dots in the upper right corner of LOOT screen, click on copy load order from the drop-down menu, and then paste).

Second, Save Game Scalpel is only for use when updating mods - it WILL NOT fix broken/corrupted saves, or any other problems in a save file; indeed, improper use can result in damage to the save file, rendering it unuseable:

"'Clean save' is for mod updates only. This includes work done with Save Script Cleaner. That tool cleans obsolete entries and orphaned scripts from the game, but script data will remain in the save file, causing Papryus to constantly check it and creating errors."- Ilja

I've solved many bugs this way. atleast you can get a working game out of it, if the bug still appears then you might have a a bad download of convenient horses or its outdated

Thanks for the information. I updated my original post with my mod list from LOOT. When I start a new game the issues persist so that's why I suspect there's some conflict with Convenient Horses and another mod. Using Save Game Scalpel was actually mostly unrelated to my problems with Convenient Horses; I had been crashing randomly in game so I used it to promote better stability, but now I know it's best used for when I update a mod.

Thanks I'll try this!
Edit: Putting the .esp all the way down on my load list doesn't resolve any of the issues...so it's a problem with the mod itself? I have the latest version installed and used NMM to download it but it seems I'm the only person who has this kind of problem.
