Quickly delete my old saves?
Where are the save files stored? is it safe to delete them directly from the folder?

They should be in a folder called saves. Documents\My Games\Skyrim\saves.

it is safe to delete old save files in documents/mygames/skyrim/saves.

You can also load up the game, and on the title screen goto load, select a file and press X (or whatever the option is to delete) and that save will be deleted from your pc as well as the steam cloud (since it tries to sync everything you do anyways).

I have 1000+ saves from 2 years ago I want to clear out....

Hitting x every time (I remember from when I played console) takes HOURS

go to Documents\my games\skyrim\saves you can delete them all safely there in one go, in the future try to limit yourself to overwrite youre save, this way you wont make a new one everytime..

If that's the case, delete your entire save folder (although the steam cloud might still read your saves, might is the key word here)

I wouldnt recomend deleting the folder, just mark all saves and delete, thats the safest way..

Yeah I deleted them. Was OK.

Trouble now is i'm trying to play again and the mods I used back in 2015 seem to give me some crashes. Gotta sort that out lol.

Did the game get updated in the past two years?

Also can we use mods with the newer skyrim special edition?
