Civil war aftermath/consequences
Can anyone name me some pros, cons, and uglies when you side with either imperial or stormcloak? lore or gameplay-wise (including bugs)?

Examples:
- All guards will be replaced with soldiers of which you sided with
- Camps of the opposing side are now hostile torwards you
- Certain NPCs siding with a faction will affect them positively or negatively. Such as Jarl Balgruuf is replaced with Vignar Graymane if siding with stormcloak.
- Talos shrines will appear in places where Talos worship was outlawed if sided with stormcloaks (i.e. solitude's temple)

Reason why I'm asking is because I don't know who to side with. They're both terrible IMO.

You don't have to nessacary side with anyone, you could ignore them (Until you get to the main quest that involves the council of the two to put the civil aside for a moment, then you can forget it after), or just find a mod that allows you too. I agree, some of my characters are like but let's get along.

Others however just take one side, then kills both Imperials and Stormcloaks (Vampire Assassin,).

Not sure what else may have changed, you will have different dialogue from a lot of NPCS asking how it effected them. Elisif is still the jarl regardless what happens, and from what I have seen, the High King is never selected. Some NPCS like that elf Anuriel, and the Jarl of Riften kinda gets screwed either way (Imperials she's stuck in Windhelm under the new jarl, however Stormcloak you can make the Riften Jarl come back, which gives Anuriel her steward job back as well). The Elf wishes you to die in the wilds regardless of what side it is.

you just need to knock whiterun battle to complete main scenario. at the council they get neutral for the dragon war anmd thats it. to be honest both sides suck so who ever wins stil makes the game sucky xD

Pretty sure that was the Emperor Titus they made you try to assassinate, I don't recall either of those two actually having a part in it. (And you did get to kill him and that commander, considering they wiped out the DBH. My problem is they used a scapegoat to kill off pretending to be the Emperor. to protect the real one.)

maybe I should also ask which side you picked and why.
