Arniel's Endeavor Quest (the warped soul gem and dwarven convectors)

I'm supposed to put his warped soul gem into Dwarven Convectors all over Skyrim but only the first time I heated up the warped soul gem in a convector (in Alftland) did it trigger something in the quests menu. In the other two locations i've tried heating up the warped soul gem nothing triggers. Is it it bugged or is nothing supposed to trigger until I finish the quest? Like when I heat up the warped soul gem in each single convector will I get a notification in the quests menu or do I just heat up the gem for a few seconds and move on?

Had the same problem. I heated the first convector and instead of telling me to take out the soul gem and go find a second convector, it said 'find a FINAL convector to heat the soul gem', and if you go to another convector nothing happens when you heat it up, effectively breaking the quest. I had USLEEP installed also.

The problem occurs because of the Augmented Flame Perk you get in the Destruction Tree. If you have that perk then it bugs the quest out apparently.

The solution was to load the save before you heated the first convector, and instead of doing a continual blast of arniel's flame spell to heat it up, you have to do small taps of the mouse button at the convector instead of keeping your finger on it. You have to do about 10 taps and then it progresses as it should. Do it for all 3 convectors.

I had to put the warped soul gem in the convector (the one inside the Dwarven Storeroom) and then open the console and type in "setstage MGRArniel03 20" (without the quotes of course). Let's just hope Arniel will take the soul gem now because someone else in that thread complained about him not taking the soul gem.
