Blackguard Armor Rating glitched?
I went to Solstheim at an early level, in order to get the armour. Finally managed to get it, after a lot of close encounters and loads of grief, and upped it to Legendary status, after loads of slogging through upping my Smithing and Alchemy skill levels.

I have both the Thieves Guild standard armour and the Blackguard Armor improved to Legendary improvement level. The standard set (the Brown stuff) gives a protection of 452, without a shield. When I hover the cursor over the Blackguard set, I see:

Armor +17
Boots +14
Gloves -2 (seems rather anomalous)
Hood +17

My arithmetic thus tells me to expect a further 46 points over the standard brown set. But...I get 407 when wearing the Blackguard set. I have the matching set perk too.

Dropping the Blackguard set, then picking it up and re-equipping it, makes no difference. Equipping and unequipping a shield makes no difference. My current version of the game is only a week or two old, so presumably it is patched. Btw, this game isn't the remastered version.

Is this a glitch? Has anyone else experienced this anomaly? 45 points less protection when wearing the Blackguard armor is really irritating, given the useful Thieving enchantments the Blackguard set carries.

There are a lot of glitches in the weapons and armours like that. This mod fixes most of them.

You should also do the clothing and clutter fixes to match.

Just make sure you load it after the first.

edit - I consider USLEEP, Cutting Room Floor (and patches) and those two basically the real vanilla.

Does the armor mod fix the issue with the Nightingale armor that if you upgrade it the random thief that tries to rob you doesn't recognize it anymore?

Just copied this off the web page. Does a lot, not the least of which is create a helper file to fix making bash patches when you have multiple weapon / armor mods

Corrects many of the bugs found in the vanilla weapon and armor records
Improves consistency and balance between different items
Weapons and armor will scale in a predictable and consistent manner
Perks that didn't apply consistently to all items in the game have been fixed
Certain items have been renamed for easier sorting or to better fit the in-game appearance of that item
Changes the crafting categories to help organize and declutter the crafting menus
Includes options for faster arrows and bolts and material-based corrections for dragon priest masks

Thanks people.

Btw, my Skyrim game has been played for hundreds of hours. I said it is only a couple of weeks old in my post. I got confused because I recently bought Oblivion a couple of weeks ago.
