Hard drive size of game with DLCs?
Hi

Interested in getting the game but I have limited capacity on my computer. I know the specs say 6gb of hard drive space but does this include the 3 dlcs?

Is skyrim still 6gb with all three add-ons/DLCs included?

Thanks
Sayers

No, it's more like 9 - 10 gb with the DLCs, about 13 - 14 if you also add the Hi-Res texture packs.

Hi,

Wondering if it's possible to get an exact estimate.
I only have about 11gb hard drive space.

I don't want mods, texture pack, or the special edition. I just want the regular game and the 3 DLCs.

Thanks

If you are that close to the limit, be aware that running at the bare minimum of hard drive space means that if you do not have enough HD space remaining, and enough physical memory, your pc will use HD memory to supplement physical memory. This means a partial load of memory to physical memory, can't do everything, so use virtual memory (read HD as a virtual memory), possibly do this many times, (read slow response) until everything is resolved with a action. This means slow responae across the board, ie the game doesn't run correctly. So, sorry for your bad luck, if you are that close to the line.

Thanks,

So, a second question...
How much virtual memory do you need? Maybe around 2gb?

Would also still like exact figure on hard drive space for vanilla game with just the 3 DLCs...

Agreed. If you're that close to filling up your hard drive you should either forget about the game, delete some of things you have installed on it, or get a new hard drive. In addition to the hard disk memory that wowzer mentioned, your hard drive needs space in order to create temporary files that some applications need in order to run. The rule of thumb is that you should leave 10% of your total space empty for those kinds of things. Otherwise you end up with programs crashing, and your system unable to defragment your hard drive, which can cause a significant loss of performance.
