Riften Honeyside Garden
Just became a Thane in Riften and got the Honeyside house with all the upgrades. If I harvest my garden, will it regrow?

It sounds like I can possibly kill my chickens, but there is a possibility of my housecarl going insane. Is that still going on ?

thanks!

i think it would be the normal cell re-spawn time for the plants

in other words,i think it's something like 3 weeks or 3 months (,one of the two,and in-game of course) without entering that cell (most likely Riften in general) for them to re-grow

as for the chickens,i have no clue, though i doubt they will re-spawn

I killed the chickens and was immediately attacked by the Riften guards! Thought I was allowed to kill the chickens since they were mine...?

thats like saying you thought its legal to kill your children because they're yours

to the game,it doesn't matter who owns them or not,it's a farm animal within or near a public area,so killing it would be like killing a nearby farmer or guard

it's illegal, simply because of where its at,had you of not been noticed by anyone and/or had it out in the wild,it might of been fine

and besides,it's not like they drop anything good or useful to begin with

remember, its only a crime if you get caught!

It's 10 days for a regular respawn like that one in Riften, and 30 days for any area that's marked as "Cleared" on your map. Provided you don't enter the cell during that time period.

Thanks for the info! I'd read somewhere that you're allowed to kill the chickens in this instance because they're yours (even though I love the children analogy). But I'd also read that there is / was a bug where your housecarl would go crazy and attack you for killing the chickens because she treated them as her chickens. Either way, I'm leaving the chickens alone! But I'll start to harvest the garden now. Thanks again!!

You can always buy chicken from Marise in the market anyway.

just imagine it this way :

the chickens are your housecarl's children

you're murdering her children

how do most people normally react to their children being murdered?

you could probably sneak over in the corner of the garden or something when no-one is watching you and kill them that way,but i don't know whether or not your housecarl will approve of such a murderous action when they telepathically read your mind to see the past within an instant of seeing you
