Any reason to not betray the Greybeards? (SPOILERS)
I know you lose the ablity to medate on words of power but if you medatate one before betraying them then you keep the bonus forever.

I litterly cannot think of a single reason to side with the Greybeards over the Blades.

Blades want to help you save skyrim by killing Dragons

Greybeards dont give a ♥♥♥♥

Blades want to put a hold on the civil war so you can capture a dragon

Greybeards couldn't give less of a ♥♥♥♥

Blades offer you companions to help you hunt dragons.

Greybeards don't give a ♥♥♥♥

And if you Betray the Greybeards you can still get the "Letter from a friend" when you use a shout in a major city or town whilest outside of combat.

Do you gain ANYTHING from sidding with the Greybeards that can't be kept or gotten elsewhere?

They have the bigger picture in mind when it comes to how the universe works. Alduin is meant to destroy the world so it will start anew if memory serves. The problem is Alduin strays from his duties so he can take over the world. The Blades have a good history in what they did. The problem with them in Skyrim is they have a zealous view that all dragons should die no matter what hurr durr. Case in point the Greybeards' leader, they don't care about the fact he saw the wrong Alduin was doing nor care about how he repents. Paarthurnax did do wrong, however he eventually betrayed Alduin.

I didn't ask for Moral reasons I understand the moral argument for why he should be spared.

I'm more asking a mercenary question of 'what do I get paid for not killing Parrthurnax?'
Surmene Jun 10, 2017 @ 3:46pm
That doesn't work since you're not a mercenary to the Blades. They're only interested in the Dragonborn.

-meditation with a dragon...
-keeping a pet dragon as a friend.
-have a moral way to be done with the &%$%$ blades.
-Wining some favor with Kyn
-Roleplay reasons.

Skyrim becomes very boring if you turn the stories in to a money min/max-ing game.

Skyrims greybeards are like the rl mayas with the death clock... what are you expecting from a cult that sees thier endtime coming?

And the blade pros can be replace by others as well.

All the jarls can give quest to kill a dragon.
All the high place people are constantly trieong to sway you in to the civilwar. (even thou the questline is completed)
looking for companions? join any guild do a random quest...

They give you some sweet beard growing tips.

The Graybeards are your trainers for crying out loud. They teach you all the basic shouts and will lead you to others throughout the game.

What do the Blades do? They don't care about the Dragonborn. They see him as a way to regain the glory they used to have. They don't serve you, they tell YOU what to do.
Delphine is the worst. "I guess you'll pass for a guest, until you open your mouth." remark is as bad as "If you don't trust me your a fool to come down here in the first place." I want to smash her across the face with a sword. To even think she'd have a chance against a Dragonborn.

Which is why I use a Mod that makes her non-essential. When the time is right, I kill her.

you get to not be an ass because you dont need to kill Parthunex
reason enough?
the blades are just a bunch of whiny little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that get in the way
the undead dragon will also respect you slightly more
it has little benefit either way so the moral reason is the only real thing you can get out of it
maybe you can sacrifice a few blades to that cult near windhelm, can save you sacrificing some more important people
so i guess siding with blades can have a benefit? maybe?

Riddle me this: Why is The Paarthurnax Dilemma one of the most popular mods on Nexus? Exactly because it puts Delphine in her place.
Ashardalon Jun 10, 2017 @ 6:25pm
also gives a cooler ending "cutscene" if old wiskers is stil alive
BM [PT] Jun 10, 2017 @ 6:40pm
Paarthurnax deserves to die, for every innocent he killed, no matter how mutch good he tries to do, the people he killed deserve revenge.

If i liked him? Absolutly, thats why it should be a friendly face to swing the sword.

he didnt kill any family you ever knew
should i be angry at italians because they enslaved my ancestors 1000+ years ago?
how long does it take to not matter half a ♥♥♥♥?
nobody who sufferd lives today
your actions would make you the only monster, even before you grab your sword
stop beating a skeleton of a horse
BM [PT] Jun 10, 2017 @ 6:46pm
First it was a example.
Second, what italians nowadays have to do with thoose who lived 1000 ago? Doens't even make sense your comment.
Paartharnux is still alive, the people who enslaved your ancestors are dead, you can't blame italians from nowadays.
Ashardalon Jun 10, 2017 @ 6:53pm
but anyone who could know the people who paartharnux killed are also dead
its also because of him that they ever got free from alduin
the dead dont care, its only their loved ones that care
and they are also long dead
he is the only one that is stil suffering from his actions
do you think you are doing him a favor by kiling him?

that and i wanted to know: how long does it take to get over things that never influenced you?
when are people going to stop beating the skeleton of a long dead horse?
BM [PT] Jun 10, 2017 @ 6:54pm
But it also depends on your carachter:
A good one, with high morals and values (a.k.a ned stark) - you kill him.
A bad one (almost every one), cause everyone does dark brotherhood and thieves guild - you don't kill him.
Ashardalon Jun 10, 2017 @ 6:57pm
pretty sure its the horrible people with no idea about the value of life that kill him
thats why im asking why you think the fee fee's of long dead people that have long sinse forgotten about it in soverngarde are more important then the life of the hero that made it possible for people to ever get free from alduin
