It is true that DA does not "kill" character as such, but at least robbing scenarios can be very punishing.
I don't know any other mod that does similar things.
Edit: Well, there are adult mods, with very punishing scenarios. However, like DA, they do not actually kill the character. They just run custom scenarios like DA does.
That cant even be legal.
Yeah. I decied not to even ask about that.
The mod is actually great, it is more or less skyrims system of determining enemy damage that makes it not so great. Even when you are a skyrim god one shot can kill you randomly at times.
Death alternative can be okay. Since you don't technically die in that mod does anyone know if that will work with the hardcore mod? That way you get robbed if you are taken out the first time but after that you die for good.
Death alternative is just too forgiving for me. Rob chance is fairly low and even when they do steal it hardly puts a dent into the tens of thousands of gold you can easily acquire though I did hear they added some slider options
Dont like it.
Perhaps you should remove the link before any one that dont understand what the mod actually do, and come here and whine about that they have lost all their chars.
What comes to DA robbery: you can set variables there yourself. I am using Hardcore bleedout mode with 100% change to rob all items and gold from MCM.
I am also using Coin Weight from Skyrim Coin Replacer Redux (and naturally the main mod itself), Trade and Barter, Trade Routes, Simple Taxes, Crime Bounty Decay and Reduced Gold Rewards for Quests.
These mods make it so that I have reason to be on the road all the time. I can't drag all the gold with me (due to weight) and having 100% change to loose all items and gold over DA robbery would make it senseless anyway.
This means that buying property actually makes sense. I need places as safe houses. However, I ramped house tax from Simple Taxes MCM sliders to 1000 and follower tax to 500 per month.
Money is sort of free in Skyrim. This combination of mods keeps my characters on their toes. They have taxes to pay, trades to complete, crime bounties to avoid (they go down with the mod, over time) and constant risk of getting ambushed on the road.
And of course I am using Disparity to create exactly the type of character I want.
I know this reply went a lot further than your OP asked for. I just wanted to show how I am managing money and robberies in the game myself, to help understand how DA works for me.
This is what happened today. My Breton Female (Sorceress attributes, Thief skills in Disparity) got attacked by pack of SkyTEST wolves. She blacked out and woke up on the road near Redorans Retreat. Of course the guy who "rescued" her decided to loot her. I ended up running naked around the planes, avoiding wolves, hostile spellsword, sabre cat and mudcrabs (eh, SkyTEST mudcrabs...) to get back Whiterun.
She is only at level 3. No house. I ended up robbing half the city and running back to find that damn thief, with weapons stolen from Warmaidens.
Didn't find him. Belethor seems to have some of my junk now, but I don't have money to get it and I can't get enough money to pay the debt in time, before it turns in to bounty. I already have quite a high bounty in Whiterun and will have to run to another hold soon, while it cools down. I will just claim essential stuff and try to skipt the hold, before debt tunrs in to bounty and guards react on sight. :p
