Problems with custom races
I'm rather new to installing mods for Skyrim outside of the Steam Workshop, but I decided to give Nexus Mod Manager a try since lots of mods aren't on the workshop. However, I'm having issues where the custom race I downloaded is missing textures and eyeballs, and I'm not sure what to do about it.

I'm trying to get the Elin Race mod to work. I have race compatibility installed. Since I'm not sure extactly how to do this, I've been making sure no files are allowed to overrite other files (In this case, Elin Race isn't allowed to overwrite any files race ompatibility uses).

Any help would be appreciated.

read the page, you may need more mods. In NMM click on tools then reset archive invalidation.

That's the thing, I already have all those installed. Everything should be up to date as I installed all those things about three days ago. Unless there's some other mods that are required, I can't think of what else the problem could be.

You got it from "LL", right? Are you using the 2013 or 2017 version? And can you walk us through how you installed it?

I'm using the February 22 2017 version.

First, I installed SKSE and skyui (skyui from the workshop and SKSE from the store page)
Second, I installed other mods (like house mods, racemenu, racemenu precache killter, etc.)
Next, I downloaded the Elin files.
Then I downloaded and installed the required mods that I saw (the skeleton thing, physics, fnis, realistic ragdolls and orce, etc.)

After all this, I clicked the green plus thing (add mod from file), and loaded all the Elin mods into NMM. I installed the main pack, the voice pack, and the converted vanilla sets/maid outfit.

The weird thing is, this had worked for me before. However, I decided to try the ElinNewBody thing as I wanted to see what it was. That led to me installing it and the newElinBody texture pack thing. At this point, I lost all my body textures for the Elin mod. I believe I may have let it overwrite some file at this opint (letting the texture thing overwrite something from the newbody?)

Seeing as everything went wrong, I decided to uninstall everything and repeat the installation of the Elin mods. Now my hands were invisible, as well as missing my face textures and eyeballs. Taking off my shirt however showed that my body was completely invisible, leaving just a floating head.

I then uninstalled all the Elin mods, and reinstaled everything except for the newBody and the textures. I thought this would set everything back to how it was before, but now my face textures are still missing as well as my body textures. My body is no longer invisible, but that's little consolation when I have no textures anywhere on me (not even my hair).

Now, I reinstall everything using the "reinstall", but that doesn't work. I uninstall then click install again, that doesn't work. I repeat the steps but having clicked "reset archive invalidaiton", that doesn't work. I validate my Skyrim files somewhere in this step while doing all this, but that still doesn't seem to solve anything (one file failed to validate if that means anything).

During all this, I'm struggling with understanding the difference between CBBE, UNP, and whatever else there is, so I'm switching between them every now and then to see what works (I always make sure everything is configured for the same thing).

I'm now at the point where I have no idea where to go, and I'm too scared to try out other mods for fear of causing further issues. I don't think the vanilla races are effected (I haven't really checked them). If getting the Elins is this much work, I'm worried about what will happen if I try to download some mods to change Skyrim from a frozen wasteland to a more grassy termperate rainforest like place.

I think I'll need to take you up on that offer. I don't know how to call you up (you say not to add you for mod support on your profile), so I'll just let you call me up / add me so I can get some help if you want.

Would reinstalling the game and every mod fix things? I'd rather avoid that if possible do to my bad internet/download cap, but I'm out of ideas.
