Treva's Watch CTD
I am currently on the companions questline when I happened to accept a quest from a man to enter Treva's Watch through the secret entrance. So I go in and finish up the dungeon and happen to make my way up to the tower where there is one chest waiting.

So I take the trap door back inside Treva's Watch and it just crashes.

I worked my way down the tower in the most unimmersive way and completed the quest to open the gate. So I save before trying to go back in to Treva's Watch and it still crashed when i try to re-enter.
This could've been a lot worse had I not been able to complete both active quests...fo' sho'

Anybody else heard of this CTD black hole at Treva's Watch and is this the only location I should avoid from now on?
Thanks

Repeatable CTDs caused by entering a certain interior are typically caused by something in your load order.

Have you cleaned your master files, for starters?

I just cleaned them for the first time after watching a youtube tutorial. Thanks.

Ok so I cleaned the master files. Optimized load order. Same thing. I'll just continue playing for a while and avoid that location. This seems like a bug, a horrible bug, that is connected to the other quest to open the gate.

Before this I laways over looked it during the Companion Quest so whatever for now.

Next time complete the quest to open the gates first and then make your way to the tower from the outside. I have had that Companion quest a number of of times, usually to get Silver Hand plans and have never had a problem when doing it that way.

Will do. Now at Driftshade Refuge or whatever it's called. Everything was good until I tried entering the second part of the dungeon and it just CTD.

I'm goint to do a quick intergity files check and maybe ice a few mods...seriously considering just unmodding it completely...and i have a very lightweight mod list.

Bear in mind that Steam's file validation process will re-dirty your masters.
