DO NOT ressurect her. the death script has already run and you will eventually break your game.
most of the housecarls are good fighters. go do the quests in Falkreath and get that housecarl or the one in dawnstar.

crazygirl: please stop telling people to use the console codes, especially if it will feck their game!!

Edit: You can have a housecarl from each of the cities.

Uthred the Unbroken is a good replacement for Lydia. She's in The Bannered Mare in Whiterun, you just have to beat her in a fist fight then she will follow you if you ask. Avoid the use of the console if you can, there is a strong likelihood it will break your game.

I tend to use animal followers more and will only use a real follower if they use magic or are ranged becasue with my play style they get in the way and I end up killing them on accident. -_- Lydia I don't know why you ran out infront of my bow while I was trying to take down that bandit but R.I.P you crazy housecarl.
As for followers a bad ass follower is Marcurio in riften in the Bee and Bard. He uses magic and is pretty darn awesome. He is by far my favorite marriage partner and travling buddy. The guy has good skill.
Another is Sven in Riverwood. That wannabe Bard will crush everything in sight just like Camillas heart.
Jenassa is Whiterun at the Drunken Huntsmen is pretty awesome.
Good luck on your followers hunt and try not to kill em too much ;)
By the way I was just kidding about Sven!

at the presant time i'm a crazy high elf with 540 (+160) magic, and 160 health. i do not know if i should keep putting into the magic or health. the +160 is enchanted armor magic points.

where do i get a enchantment that gives health? i have a 10 to 20 % health regeneration. and both types of magic.... pionts and regen.

if you take advantage of the sneak backstab at the dragon voice wizards castle. in a fast 10 minets i leveled up aroun 5 levels. should i have taken time off between them? like going back to some other skill trainers. and paid for 5 skills between each fast sneak ups?

well, How did she get to be Thane? Loot her body and give armor to someone else. Stenvar is not bad.

OK fire throwing goof must be Ragot, apparently you were not strong enough to take him on. Now you know better nest time. By the way you are the Thane, Lydia was follower.

yes jancawa 57 i still have those bad habbits that got me banned. sorry about the thane mix up.
I guess i'm thinking about doing a full start over and do 50/50 magic/health as i level up.

No it doesn't break your game quit lying. I've resurrected NPC's before and it doesn't break anything.

God I'm so sick of hearing this "Don't revive a dead NPC it'll break a bunch of scripts" "Don't move an NPC it might break the game" "Don't enable/disable the actor or it might break them".

Stop.

While resurrecting a dead NPC may not break your game, doing so to some of them will. Many characters have a death script attached to them, and if that is triggered and you try to bring them back to life, you will break your game. In the case of Lydia, I suspect it will. At the very least, she will most likely stop responding to her follower commands. It's best to avoid using that function just in case.

I've used it on NPCs before they still work. I mean the OP can always just go into CK and make the housecarls essential then they wont ever die. Though he would have to reload a previous save to where his lydia was still alive.

Not all of them will though. For example, if Belethor in Whiterun is killed it's scripted that Ysolda will take over his shop. If you try to resurrect Belethor, he will no longer be able to make trades as the game considers him dead. He won't even be able to enter his own shop as it is then the property of Ysolda. There are numerous examples like that, and if you aren't absolutely sure that there will be no complications it's best to avoid bringing a character back from the dead.

I'm sure if they are broken like that then you can just do disable/enable. That should reset them or go into CK and remove the death script. Though that's sounds a lot more complicated and I don't even know if you could do it. CK is confusing for me.
