Is Nexus Mods not a secure site anymore or is Fire Fox just acting up?
I only ask because Fire Fox is displaying an insecure icon on the site and says that login passwords could be compromised, so I am just wondering if anyone who is using Fire Fox has the same issue.

Yeah mine usually works just fine. I have never had a problem before using FIre Fox with ad blockers, no script, and flashblock active.

But today I tried to login in an was prompted with a warning that said my connection to Nexusmods was not secure and that logins could be compromised.

I think it is a new function of Fire Fox so maybe I just don't understand it yet.

Nexus Mods is a secured site, but download mods at your own risk.

Well from what I understand is that Nexusmods does not use encryption, thus it is not secure according to Fire Fox, but that is probably normal for Nexusmods.
i had that "unsafe connection" or whatever message on 2 different sites i frequent on a daily basis today. so it is most likely a firefox issue

The only insecure part of Nexus is the ads, unless you have a modder that is an arse. I Used to get the occasional virus warning from them. Best suggestion is sub one month and the ads are permenantly gone.

Yeah, I'm getting a Not Secure message as well. I tried visiting Nexus in Chrome and I get the same message.
Is something up with the site?

No problems using Opera. I stopped using FireFox a long time ago.

I use Chrome and I have no problems going to and using the Nexus. Now the unofficial wiki on the other hand seems to have been marked as dangerous by Norton sometime within the past couple days though.

I think Steam is just being paranoid, Nexus works fine. (There is one mod I suggest never going to though, or maybe it's just me, one for a Dark Brotherhood Mod but kind of forgotten what it was, twice I have gone to that particular mod page and gotten a virus warning, maybe Steam is picking up on that, have no clue why it's just one mod out of a hundred mods I have looked at, it's got a high download rate so it's strange.).

But other then that Nexus is safe, could be also because there's a lot of nudity there and Steam won't pick up on the filters and think it's free for all.

The Firefox prompt is informing you that you're about to submit information over an unsecured protocol. Internet Explorer's been doing the same thing since pretty much forever, though most people still using that browser hit the "don't show me again" prompt and forget about it.

Notice how some web links start with "http" and some with "https"? The "s" tells your browser to use a secure, encrypted connection when working with those pages, using SSL. The little padlock appearing next to the link signifies this.

This means that if you're on a public wifi - eg at an airport, McDonalds, whatever - other people connected to that same network won't be able to eavesdrop on your transmissions. And that's kind of a big deal when account details are involved.

If you're on a "private" network, it's not as much of an issue - you can usually trust everyone who has your home wifi key not to sniff your network packets and pull your password info out of them. Whether you can trust your ISP and anyone else your data is being passed through may be a bit of a different story...

As a general rule, if you're about to type your password into something, you should check the link, add the "s" if it's missing, and load the secure version of the login page first (it's a good time to check that you're on the domain that you should be, too!). Some servers don't support https at all, and you'll get an error if so, but then you should really re-think whether you should have an account with such sites in the first place.

It looks like Nexus has now been reconfigured to redirect you to its secure site automatically (which is what most sites do): https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5942718-security-warnings-wont-go-away/
